  • I'm just going to port my main nation (Empire of Science) into a Potatoeist society.

And I was providing AH terms for everyone.
I envisioned mine as officially Potato-neutral, privately wary or hostile towards Potatoeists.

"It's just a plant! A tuber! I do not understand what the all the fuss is about. These people are crazy! I hope they do not decide to visit my land."
"I agree. They should not be welcome here!"
"Please, gentlemen. We must not let fear and prejudice blind us in the search for peace..."

I'm thinking a heavily secular and scientific, but still Potatoeist-influenced society.

  • Also, what is "18th-19th century" tech going to be like? 1700 and 1900 are like completely different worlds. How advanced would you have to be to, say, use telegraphs/electricity/lightbulbs?

This is what I intend for my nation, as well. And if I control Brazil, I'm the gateway to the Holy Land...

That's very different from 18th-19th century though. Napoleonic era is basically just a decade and a half in the 19th century.

Idk. It's the difference between halberds and massed artillery. Lots of advancements in gunnery and navigation were made during that time.

There's a lot of inventions that occurred in the mid-to-late 19th century. It would be disingenuous to label the tech level as "18th-19th century" and then only limit it to up to the Napoleonic Wars.

  • A tech range of the 1700s to the turn of the twentieth century wouldn't necessarily be absurd. Many colonial conflicts were like that.

Agreed. I think we can do something that way; the only question (which is what I was originally asking before we ended up asking what "18th-19th century" even meant) is how we would set that up with SA stats.

    It's not 1700s-1900s, but it is 1700-1900.
