  • Also, @BraveSirRobin, your absence is always one that's hard to miss. How have you been, and what do you think about the current situation?

  • What exactly drove you to vote for Pengu?
My reasoning is the earlier public espousing of his theory that new players are more likely to be evil or have an important role. Of course, since I am a new player, I would be very much against someone highlighting me as a target, so this partially is mere self-interest.

However, the fact that he stated such a theory indicates that he is willing to highlight players who are new and therefore unpredictable for destruction. If everyone followed this doctrine, and the new players were slaughtered, the old players would be the only ones left, and the old players are all familiar with how everyone reacts, making those more devious able to strategize better.

  • Beyond that, it is very wild speculation to think that new players would be the only ones who wouldn't make a move on time in the night phase.

But at the same time, Hydra has a very good point. We don't know how you behave, and that makes you dangerous if you are a Wolf.

Hmm. If I were to change my vote to Pengu, thereby giving him a majority (though that could be undone by other people's votes easily, including making myself look very suspicious if Pengu turns out to be innocent), would you be willing to place your life on the line in the next day phase if Pengu turns out to be innocent?

  • Oh, and I have to ask: why did you not vote for me or Hydra? Pengu may have been the one who put that theory forward, but I was the one who ended basing my vote off it. Hydra seems to have his own reason for going after you.

  • In fact, voting for Hydra would give you a 50/50 chance of getting lynched, so that would make a good deal of sense as a self-preservation tactic.

  • @Rasdanation, how much time do we have left in this phase?

@Ashton Mercer, you may wish to respond before the phase comes to an end.

I'm not willing to put my (fake) life on the line for anything (in this game), let alone a wild stone throw based on my reading of human nature in this game.

All I can say is that I found Pengu's behavior just a tad suspicious, so that is why I placed my vote. You can do whatever you want with your vote, just make sure you think it through as I have. It's entirely possible that I am wrong and that my analysis was too meta for the random reality of the game.

As a closing statement, I would be uncomfortable lynching someone because of their voting habits. It is very possible and very likely that mistakes could be made. Ultimately it comes down to their behavior and their explanation for their votes (or lack thereof) that is the ultimate marker of innocence or guilt. I hope I have written well enough and logically enough to convince you of my innocence. :P

  • So before you make that decision to change into a majority, let me ask you this: considering how punctual I try to be both in hosting and not, do you really believe I'd actually miss sending a target in a 24 hour period? If I was a bad guy, at the very least I'd at least say ahead of time to not take a victim for the night in case my teammates didn't respond.  For all the bad guys not to respond especially is why, since again, at the very least I'd make sure some action happened rather than none, especially since day/night extensions aren't promised.

  • After reading Pengu's argument and re-reading the posts, I'm afraid I have been horribly, horribly mistaken. I misread who said what during the past phase while writing my post.

Pengu is against inactive new players, and after some thought I understand why and agree with him. My real enemy here is @xXTheHydraXx. My arguments apply much more so to him than to Pengu. My sincerest apologies, @Pengu.

    Vote: xXTheHydraXx

(this indecisiveness certainly doesn't look good on me, does it?)

  • That is a very good point, Pengu.

I don't know what to do. Ashton is pretty damn active himself, and even though I don't have a previous game to measure his behaviour against, this doesn't seem all that suspicious. I also don't believe he would have missed the opportunity to send his target.

Did anyone happen to take note of players who were inactive and then came online during the last moments of the night phase?

  • No need to apologise. I happened to see that the only thing you changed was adding that line in brackets, but certain other people would be on you like a pack of hungry lions on a zebra before you can say "Werewolf." :P

  • I may end up regretting this, but after some thought, I have come to the decision change my vote to vote: Justinian Ezkantion.

It doesn't seem like Hydra to forget sending a target either, and he's far from inexperienced. At the same time, killing Aragonn seems very calculated, so it could be someone framing Ash, and it could also be any number of us who know Aragonn well enough to want him gone ASAP.

Justinian Ezkantion has shown himself to be very logical in other areas of the forum, so I believe he fits the bill to be one of our Wolves. I could be horrible wrong, but that would be nothing new.

As a side-note, killing Aragonn is something any Hyperian in his right mind would do, so I can't discount Hydra or tau, but Justin just seems like the most likely target with the current circumstances.
