As the host finished up his introduction of the Arena – which was mostly just plainly stating the rules followed by a long-winded praising of the investors and Monarch for making the Arena possible – the five combatants walked onto the battlefield and formed a circle, each about 100 feet from the next.
“And now, our mighty combatants!” the host yelled out. “Our heroes are among the bravest in all of Wintreath, seeking fame and fortune by battling one another with steel and shield for our enjoyment.
“Our five combatants are Paladin Rass who uses the strength of his faith to strike down evil, the Sorcerer Wintermoot who uses dark magic to ensure others’ deaths, Ranger Crushita who is more than deadly with his trusted bow, the Cleric Sapphiron who taps into divine magic to raise both the dead and otherworldly monsters, and lastly the Wizard Hydra whose extensive knowledge allows him to take advantage of the very mysteries of magic.”
The five prepared themselves for battle. Rass, Wintermoot, Sapphiron, and Hydra each got into a defensive stance, while Crushita was the only to get into an offensive stance.
After a long pause to draw out the crowd’s anticipation, the host screams, “Let it begin!”
Sapphiron was the first to move, so he took the opportunity to swing up his shield and sit comfortably behind it to prevent anyone from getting the idea to take a shot at him.
Rass next got down on his knees and raised his hands to the heavens calling on his gods to bless him with strength in the battle. His prayers appeared to be answered as a faint yellowish light started to emanate around his armor as he stood, making him appear somehow even more refreshed for the battle which had only just started.
Hydra moved next and, seeing Sapphiron’s block and Rass’s prayer, decided to block as well. He did not want to attack first and draw undue aggression towards himself.
Crushita had a different strategy in mind, however. He pulled out his bow and aimed at Wintermoot, the only one yet to move and so the one who may decide to attack (and perhaps attack him). The Ranger performed a precise shot, targeted to circumvent Wintermoot’s defensive stance, but he appeared to see it coming and moved just in time so that the arrow just nicked his right cheek, dealing only 4 damage.
Angered by this – as well as Crushita’s whole “potato shit” – Wintermoot cast Acid Spray at him, dealing 7 damage. The Sorcerer smiled, however, as he knew the acid would continue to eat at Crushita and deal more damage.
The five combatants looked at each other, ready for the next moves to be made.

The combat order for the next round is:
@Eldarion@Sapphiron @Wintermoot @Rasdanation @xXTheHydraXx I don't think we'll be able to get this game done before the Summersend Festival as signups start tomorrow, right? So that's ok, maybe we'll get it next time.
Everyone please send me your next action by
5pm EDT August 18, though if I get them all before then, it'll end early.
Remember you have 4 actions you may perform: Attack, use an Ability, switch Stance, or Block (must be in Defensive Stance, though). Crushita, Wintermoot, and Rass may not use the abilities they used this round again until round 4, but they may use their other ability if they like.
