Given that we had a bit of a heated debate about Donald Trump along these lines in the IRC a week or so ago, I thought this was an interesting opinion piece to put forward. What are your thoughts?

Some people in the IRC indicated that they supported Trump, which sparked the debate.

I hate Trump, but he is not fascist, or any worse than what we've had until now. America's government has been awful it's entire existence, I can count the good presidents on one hand. Trump and Clinton are about equally horrible for me, and I think Trumps election would have a better result.

The main stream media does NOT like Trump, and there's a lot of bullshit surrounding him. I would never dream of supporting him, but he's not as bad as they say. He's xenophobic, aggressive, and elitist, but he's not fascist. Let's not just call everyone right of us fascist, that's just silly. He doesn't promote fascism, and would not lead to it. I see the comparisons people have made, and I can understand the similarities, but he's not actually fascist, let's be real. He's better than any establishment Republican anyways.
