This Act shall be titled Revocation of Govindia's Citizenship.

1)This Act shall revoke the citizenship of Govindia.

2)This is not a ban and not a Persona Non Grata declaration. Govindia is free to remain in Wintreath and post. As a former citizen.

3)Citizenship can be restored by the relevant authorities.

Govindia has been in Wintreath for a long time. In that time he has harassed people many times. We have tolerated him for a very long time but we must admit that we cannot help Govindia ourselves. He must seek help that we cannot provide. This is not something we do easily.

May I have the thoughts of my colleagues?

I think we should simply set out the legislation, without going into detail about why the bill is happening in the bill itself.

That should happen in the discussion.

The Storting recognises Citizen Govindia's harmful, if unintentional, habit of harassing other Citizens to the point where he has received numerous warnings, and several long-lasting actions taken against him in other Wintreath properties. The Storting regrets that the community cannot help Citizen Govindia, as it acknowledges him to be a good-natured Citizen who doesn't always realise the harm he does, but who must nonetheless be dealt with by this body.

3. Citizen Govindia will hereby have his citizenship revoked.

4. Govindia will be removed from any offices he holds, and he will be stripped of all the rights and duties of a Citizen, including but not limited to taking part in Underhusen elections, voting in Underhusen elections, taking part in Wintreath military operations as a member of either of the two branches of the military, and the right to hold any office within any part of the region's government.

5. He will have full access to any parts of the forum that previous Citizens do, and all the rights of a previous Citizen will be applicable to him.

6. The Storting affirms his right to appeal this Act through all the lawful channels in which this may be done.

It's been awhile since I've written a very long Act, and I don't think I've ever written anything as important as this one, so please provide feedback.

Agreed.  I think one downside to the last revocation is that it was entirely too lengthy.  We want to be specific, but we also want to keep it brief.  Evidence to instances can be provided, but we don't want it to read out like a damn story.

It looks solidly-worded, but the only suggestion I have is to switch "he" in sections 5 and 6 to "Govindia" to remove unidentified pronouns. Good job.

Are we allowed to mention "forum" explicitly?

I don't recall, but we'd have to be able to say something in that regard to get the point across of what we mean.  We could do "community," but there might be confusion in that allowing IRC as well, despite his ban from there.

@PB, I am unsure. I seem to remember something similar. Do you have a suggestion for another word I can use?

@ Barnes, perhaps you are correct, but I don't know how much chance there is for confusion, as the rest of the Act possibly puts it into context. Still, if there is even the slightest doubt, I'll use his full name.

It has been suggested to me that we can cut down on quite a bit of fat by merging 2 and 3, and removing points 4 to 6.

At the very least, point 6 is necessary, if only to affirm the rights of a masked former citizen.

Apparently those are implied when a citizen gets his citizenship revoked.

I know, but the redundancies remove all ambiguities, and they are affirmations if nothing else, similar to the "Congress shall have the power to enforce the above articles with appropriate legislation" clause in many U.S. Constitutional amendments.

So if we cut down on that fat, it would look something like this:

I also dislike the word "acknowledges." I think I'll go with *recognises.*

What do others think? Should we keep section 6, renumbered as section 3?
