In a hole in the ground there lived a hobbit. Not a nasty, dirty, wet hole, filled with the ends of worms and an oozy smell, nor yet a dry, bare, sandy hole with nothing in it to sit down on or to eat: it was a hobbit-hole, and that means comfort. It had a perfectly round door like a porthole, painted green, with a shiny yellow brass knob in the exact middle.

The door opened up to a remarkably decorated hall shaped like a tunnel, small enough for a child, or at least a child sized person to fit through.  This was the home of one Bilbo Baggins, a well-to-do hobbit who, in normal occasions was perfectly alright with having no excitement outside of the occasional drink at the local pub.

But today was a different day for young Baggins, as today was a celebration most exciting, though he had forgotten what the reason was.  His once comfortable looking home was transformed into a place to accommodate many visitors, his kitchen completely shifted into what looked like its own mini-bar, and his front yard turned into a small sitting area with music.

The people of the Shire had wanted nothing to do with this unusual sort of perversion that they knew would appear with this sort of excitement...with the occasional fireworks, adventure seeking wizards, and other such curious manners of unusual visitors that occasionally followed.

But this was a special day, and even some of the more abrasive Hobbits had found themselves unable to resist indulging in such an affair themselves as the visitors began to arrive.

This is a casual RP for those who would like to take part, either with a LOTR/Hobbit character or a unique one.  The former are first-come-first-served.  I'll keep tabs on here when a character is claimed.  You don't have to say "I Claim _____", simply post in character with that person.

A large man with dark hair and an incredibly bushy beard akin to that of a dwarf entered the quaint garden of the one known as Bilbo Baggins, took a seat that was far too small for him, and awaited the arrival of the Maia Olórin, whom all the common folk knew as Gandalf the Grey.

Bilbo was preparing some snacks as the first guest, a man with a beard like a dwarf arrived.  He had begun to remember his first encounter with dwarves...though that had been when his friend Gandalf had brought them to his doorstep and tossed him into his first adventure.

"Welcome, p-please, make yourself comfortable." Bilbo said as he offered his guest some snacks.  "If you're thirsty, there's ale in the kitchen, o-or I could grab some for you of course." Bilbo added.

A somber figure covered in a white cloak and cowl appears from the shadows. You can't see her face, but can tell it's a female. Her voice wavers a bit as she says: "Hello, is this the residence of Bilbo Baggins?"
Some shadows lift from her face and you can see a faint smile.

Bilbo turned to see the new guest appear on his lawn in a white cloak.  "Yes, that's me." He answered as he hesitated for a moment to approach, knowing full well his history regarding people hiding their appearance behind a cloak.

"Welcome to the party." He replied faintly, as he extended his hand upward for the woman to reach.  "I'm sorry, have we met before?" He asked.

Bilbo turned to see the new guest appear on his lawn in a white cloak.  "Yes, that's me." He answered as he hesitated for a moment to approach, knowing full well his history regarding people hiding their appearance behind a cloak.

"Welcome to the party." He replied faintly, as he extended his hand upward for the woman to reach.  "I'm sorry, have we met before?" He asked.

"Not that I know of, in another life perhaps. Or do you recognize my speech, mistaken for the voice of another? Perhaps a glimpse of my face will clear things up. I hope that is good enough for you, for I am somewhat shy." She seems to be swaying slightly from side to side as she talks. "Oh and Master Baggins, please try not to stutter. Words are powerful, and if spoken unclearly they can have great consequences."
She lifts up her cowl, and the first thing you see is her hair, somewhat like a lions mane, if lions fur was a dark shade of purple. Her silver eyes shone with a slightly crazy, mischievous light. The only mark that marred her pale skin was a three pronged scar, coming from the left eye, as if a wolf had laid its paw on her face. After a moment she replaces the cowl.
"I hope that helped" she says, somewhat boredly, as she walks through the door and takes a seat at the table, not letting poor Bilbo get a word in edgewise.

A tall, dignified man strode into the garden, his dark hair covered by an elaborate dragon helmet. He looked upon the three already seated, and declared, "It is I, Túrin, son of Húrin, Prince of Dor-lómin, Glaurung's Bane, Man-Elf, Master of Fate."

A white-clad wizard approaches the small hole in the ground in Hobbiton. 

"Good day!  Have either one of you seen Gandalf around?  He didn't show for the latest White Council... and how are you, Aulë?  I haven't seen you in centuries!!" 

"I simply came here for some cheese. I also heard about an abundance of fine silverware that a "Master Baggins" was handing out? Maybe I am mistaken, it sounds too good to be true. Oh! And I heard Gandalf was coming here, to answer your question. I apologize for prattling on, I'm just excited about the prospect of cheese, silverware, and my old friend Gandalf under one roof!"
Her excited bouncing causes her hood to fall off. She blushes and quickly replaces it.

Bilbo was too flabbergasted by the mysterious woman to get a word in, and that's how it seemed she wanted it as she put her cowl back on and strode inside.

He watched as another guest strode in and sat down, announcing himself...though Bilbo couldn't quite comprehend the title that he was stating.

He stood there in puzzlement for a moment as another figure in white, this one in more of a white outfit than a robe, seemed to float on through.  "No, I'm afraid he hasn't shown up yet. I'm Bilbo, sir.  Bilbo Baggins.  Pleased to meet you." He said as he extended his hand for the mysterious stranger.

"--I also heard about an abundance of fine silverware that a "Master Baggins" was handing out? Maybe I am mistaken, it sounds too good to be true." a voice called out from inside as Bilbo turned towards the door.  "Wait, what? Who said that? My silverware is off limits!" He shouted as he made his way back inside of his hobbit hole.

Already this was becoming quite the interesting party.

Aulë looked up to see the face of one of his original Maia, Saruman. He sensed something in his one-time friend had changed, much like it had with Sauron so many ages ago, but decided not to comment on it. After all, he was glad to see the wizard, even if Saruman might not be.

"It has been centuries. I am glad to see you, old friend. I'm glad especially not to see Sauron's dark influence over you."

The last he added to measure Saruman's reaction.

In a far off corner of his mind, he was also puzzled to see Túrin Turambar here at this party. It was true that he would see him at the closing of time in the final battle against Melkor, but it wasn't yet time, was it? Oh snap.

He immediately pulled out his tremendous hammer, and began roaring: "Get out of here, all of you! Morgoth is about to return!"
