    I think it helped me become more comfortable interacting with people in an online setting - it wasn't the first place I did that, but still. I think it helped me learn how to express my ideas in writing outside of the confines of a template middle/high school five paragraph essay. It was also where I took on some of my earliest positions of leadership and responsibility (and definitely the earliest ones that I took on of my own volition without any external influencing factors like my resumé). It was some of my earliest experience meeting and knowing people with vastly different lives than my own, and it's surprising to realize that some of these friendships are now among my oldest.
