The Convention has been going on for awhile now, and I think at this point it's safe to say that most people support a unicameral legislature of some sort, but there have been a lot of different ideas floated as to how a new legislature would be selected. I've put three of the ideas here, and I would appreciate if you would rank the three in order of most preferred to least preferred. This poll isn't necessarily to determine which system we should have, just which one I'll base any proposal I make on as I work through these options. Consider it unofficial.

Open Assembly
Storting would be an open assembly that would select officers (i.e the Speaker) once every four months. Officers would be subject to removal by the Assembly according to some procedure.

Elected Chamber
Storting would be elected once every so often. Members would be subject to recalls from the Citizenship.

Appointed Chamber
Storting would be appointed by the Monarch. Members of the Storting would be subject to removal from the Monarch.

My ranking would be:
1. Open Assembly (I'm not sure if the Assembly officers thing was mentioned before, but I really like the idea.)
2. Appointed Chamber (I think members of the appointed chamber should be able to be recalled by the citizenry as well, though.)
3. Elected Chamber

Also, I think a mixed chamber is a viable option, too, though I assume you left this off because others are pursuing that in their proposals.

I guess I just assumed that an open assembly would at least have a Speaker, someone that would ensure procedures were getting done.

I haven't ruled mixed chambers out, but I kind of want to get an idea of which basic directions are most supported and throwing them in there might confuse the results.

My ranking would be:

I think an open assembly with officers would be the best option, too.  After that, I think that the Appointment option would be good, provided it'd be a merit-based thing.  Elections are nice too, but they theoretically could be divisive and polarise a region. (Not something that I see happening with Wintreath in the immediate future, but we're a growing region, so who knows?  It's still something to think about, I guess.)  Thoughts of others?

I think the same as Gerrick and BraveSirRobin.
But I think a mixed one (Open Assembly and Appointed Chamber) would be better. If we only get an Open Assembly it would already be great.

To second most everyone else, an open assembly with officers would be best.

I'm still in favour of an elected chamber.

I'm going to keep this open a few more days before I start thinking of other things...please feel free to contribute if you haven't already. =]

I'm for an open assembly - I'm not particularly a fan of a unicameral legislative system, but assuming veto powers lie with the monarch (and/or require something like 3/4ths of the house to overrule it) there shouldn't be any major problems.

I'll begin writing the formal proposal sometime in the near-future, but based on what's been posted I'm envisioning an open assembly with elected officers every three months (at the bare minimum a Speaker, but with the ability to create other officers like Secretary, etc.). I personally think it marries the best of both open assemblies and elected chambers.

That's not to say my proposal is all that important...anyone else can still right their own different one.
