Welcome, new Storting! In this thread, stand for election to speaker if you want the job. This topic will remain open for one day, at which point voting will commence.

I'd like to stand for Speaker, even though it may be my first term here.

(And thanks, Wintermoot, for updating the community announcements and Storting area. Did you, however, remove someone from the Overhusen?)

I actually didn't update the announcements, but whoever did is doing a fine job

Laurentus won election to the Underhusen, and while technically legal it would be odd to have someone in both chambers.

Oh. Right. I forgot about that. Are you nominating anyone for Overhusen to refill the maximum seats? Not that you legally have to.

Wintermoot doesn't nominate anyone, he just appoints whoever he wants to appoint who he believes would represent the monarchy well.

Also, I nominate @Sapphiron to be our Speaker. I tried it once, and it turns out I'm not good with the routine paperwork that goes with it. My organisational skills are more aimed towards getting shit done.

I did mean appoint, yes. My fault for assuming they were were one and the same. That being said, congratulations. It's an honour having the chance to serve in the Underhusen with you. I most likely would've nominated you for Speaker if I hadn't decided to run myself.

I might be up for Speaker PT, if the fit really hits the shan and Sapphiron can't fulfil the role, for whatever reason, at any particular point in time. Sapphiron is just generally far more organised than I am. And way less likely to get side-tracked.

I'm considering it. I also need to replace Colberius since he's taken an extended leave of absence, or I can just keep it at three...I'll make a decision in the next few days.
