I'm keeping this brief, because honestly I don't think there's too much that needs to be added here. A factbooks thread will be established soon, where you can fill in additional info about your nation.

The idea of this RP is to have some fun with politics, and hopefully inspire some offshoot RPs. The Wintrean Union is an organization similar to the European Union, with similar powers. We can bicker endlessly over pointless laws and get dragged into political crises, and all that fun stuff.

Before actually taking part in the IC thread (even with your application accepted) you'll need to have a claim on the map, which can be  found here. You can make a claim before or after making your application, doesn't matter which comes first.

Description (personality, any other information you wish to include such as bios): Oreyna hails from the Asgov province of Talvias, located on the far eastern side. In his early adulthood, he had ties to the terrorist group ALA (Asgov Liberation Army), though he reformed and later assisted the Talvian government in hunting down his former ALA comrades. He's something of a public figure, commonly held up by the government as an example to ALA fighters that forgiveness is possible if they stop fighting (in practice, however, such forgiving treatment is extraordinarily rare).

The diplomat has a fiery personality, domineering and persistent. He's something of a hot-head, though he can be reasonable. For those who get along with him, he's a pleasure to be around, but for those who make enemies with him, he's a nightmare.

He now owns a home in Lukali, though he is rarely home due to diplomatic missions and he has no spouse nor children to occupy it while he's gone.

Are there any current internal crises/conflicts/etc. in your nation? If so, what are they? Talvias is currently fighting against an insurgency by the ALA, which operates in the eastern mountainous province of Asgov. The province has its own history and ethnic group separate from the rest of the nation, and was only conquered around 200 years ago. Its members advocate independence for this reason. Although terrorist attacks by them are common in that region, it is not unheard of for ALA operatives to pop up elsewhere throughout the nation; a terrorist attack in Lukali that killed 72 people two years ago was found to be initiated by them.

Description: Harold Arsin is a Withian citizen with many new, innovative ideas. With having many supportive citizens approving of his political views, he won the election of national delegate by a landslide. He hopes he can serve his country well as his first Wintrean Union delegate meeting comes close.

With that tech frame in mind, 1.34 billion people seems somewhat high to me, but I won't deny you based on that. I'd prefer it be changed, but again, up to you. I'll accept you in once your delegate has a name and you've made a claim on the map.

Personality: Mr. Wolf grew up as a rich young man from Kungssången. He was formerly the head of the legislature but resigned to pursue the delegacy for Clifta amidst controversy surrounding the national party. Mr. Wolf is very level-headed and pragmatic, and he is always willing to compromise (to a fault). He is quite agreeable, easy-going, and maintains focus during lawmaking and policy debate. Mr. Wolf is nationalist and maintains pride in both his nation and its environment, being one of the chief proponents of past Cliftan bills supporting environmental funding and protection.

National conflicts: Clifta is currently undergoing a political crisis during which the corrupt legislature has tried to gain power against the monarchy. In retaliation, King Barnes has heightened his own strength in national leadership and executive power while severely cutting legislators' powers. Resultingly, public sentiment for legislators has become hostile, leaving Björn timid.

Appearance: Red with brown tints hair, Blurry purple eyes. Wears a modified suit with a dark green hood with gold thread inlay.

Description of delegate: Mostly very quiet and will just listen. But on certain issues she will flair up with large amounts of anger.


  Natural geography:  Very         diverse due to claiming lots of islands. Incredibly beautiful because of the Nations essential commitment to being Ecological friendly as possible.

Goverment: Daoine Pacaiste had Theocratic Goverment of the Druidic Faith. They are committed to democracy and lean towards socialistic ideals.

The Leader of the Nation is the grand Druid who is decided by  a complicated process of combining  voting and native Relgious rituals eventually producing two final Candidates who engage in Nakota íla or a sacred knife fight. The first to give the opponent cuts on each limb wins the Election.

Is your nation involved in any wars at the moment? No, we were involved with Inila Inata crisis but that has been resolved.

I've also changed my own country's population, as the population of other nations ended up being much higher than I had originally anticipated.

Your nation could perhaps just be not as population-dense as the others. Unless you're worried your nation would become mostly irrelevant because population might equal influence. And I can drastically cut the Cliftan population if need be.

So far 3 or 4 of the 5 people who have made claims ans/or signed up had populations equaling or exceeding one billion, so you should be good (as well as Rasda). And while I certainly intend for every nation to have influence, population is naturally going to be a factor and a population of 27mil is absolutely minuscule in comparison to most of these populations.

Description: Garland Gunderson: 41 years old. Born in a refugee camp in Ruin. Father died in the battle of Ravensbridge. Mother died when he was 7. Started a construction company at age 23, led it to massive financial success in 5 years. Left the company 6 years later to run for office, won a seat in the Confederate Senate representing Camden. Was given a seat in the Foreign Relations Committee, served with distinction. Left the Senate 3 years ago to become a diplomat at the request of the President. Was appointed Delegate after some political maneuvering by him. Garland Gunderson is a smooth and cunning individual, however, he also cares deeply about the North and will do whatever it takes to see it ahead. His considerable skill as a negotiator serves to help him in his cause. He, like most other Northerners, has a passionate hate of the South. Dreams of one day rebuilding Ravensbridge.

Peter De Weiss: 59 years old. Born to a family of merchants, joined the State Police to get away from the life. Rose through the ranks, eventually retiring a Deputy Commissioner 2 years ago. The Southern Archiron chose him to be the Imperial Commonwealth's Delegate because Peter De Weiss is the sort of guy who sees all problems as nails and all solutions needing hammers. A blunt and direct man, the South hopes De Weiss will bludgeon the rest of the world into accepting what they want. However, De Weiss also realizes that the vengeance the North seeks will not be easy to quench. He wants to bring this war to a blodless end.
