I'm in the same position as Gerrick; totally cool with it as long as there are multiple GMs.

CoS/Club Stoic is pretty good with graphics, iirc.

Time is my only constraint.....

So, am I only getting the factbook position?

At this point, I haven't decided what to do. It wouldn't make much sense to give you only Factbooks. What other tasks are similar that you can fit into your busy life?

Well, it'd be easier if you had a list of positions already laid out for me, as I'm having trouble concentrating on figuring them out right now.

Yeah, I'm working on just that.

I just don't have the time to put the thought required into this at present (and likely won't for about the next month). Therefore, I think what I should do is appoint a GM now, and try to take part in any discussions for other GMs to be added too.

With that said, @Aragonn would be ideal (if he remembers that the title is far more ceremonial here than in New Hyperion ), but with his time constraints, @taulover would be a good choice too.

I've expressed my desire to appoint @Bodobol and @Gerrick too, but alas I'm struggling to put my thoughts to paper for positions they could fill.

Gerrick is already our map-maker, and Bodobol has displayed skill with quite a few things. I'm guessing Bodobol would be excellent at promoting RP in something like the weekly newspaper or the Orendi, and so I would like to offer him a position as our Chief Publicity Manager, wherein he wouldn't write everything to do with promotion, but coordinate those inclined to do so (myself among them, again as time allows).

How does that sound to everyone?

To break it down:

1. Taulover as GM
2. Aragonn as either Lore Master (Factbooks) or Deputy GM
3. Gerrick stays on as map-maker, but we should come up with a new title
4. Bodobol as our Publicity Manager.

We also need something akin to our own mentor program for new RPers. I could probably head that myself.

A mentor program sounds neat, I'm not sure exactly how much demand there would be. Probably 2-3 mentors would be good for now, although depending on the growth of the Guild more may be needed.

If I could be LM, DGM, and a Mentor, that'd be awesome.

Yeah, I can't stress enough that anyone with enough experience would be welcomed as a mentor.

I'll also mention @Wintermoot and @Point Breeze here for possible suggestions on how such an idea could possibly be integrated with our existing mentor program. Is this also somewhat what you had in mind with the private discussion, Wintermoot?

I think we're having another communication failure.

I encourage everyone that wants to mentor to sign up, of course...it's important that new Citizens have a friend that can get them involved, and it would be wise for someone that wants to roleplay to have a mentor that is experienced with how it goes in the region. What I really meant though is that the guild could foster conversations regarding roleplay. I would say it's organized well at this point, but how do you go about promoting it, getting people involved, tackling any problems with it...hell, how we could best include it in our recruitment telegram? This would include the people over whatever area it was...in this case Point Breeze, Emoticonius, and possibly the entire mentor guild. One possible thing to cover...what should all mentors know about roleplay, at least the basics to get a new Citizen to the right place?

I'm not against roleplayers mentoring by any means, but I wasn't really suggesting anything more formal. Hopefully that clears it up.

At least it wasn't another explosive misunderstanding.

With that being said, I'm still not quite clear on what you mean by it not having to be so formal. Perhaps someone else here would understand what you mean. Whenever you try to explain something to me, I just get confused.

EDIT: Also, something I did one time when I wasn't clear on what RP meant in this region and I was assigned to mentor someone with an interest in it, I used Sapphiron as a consultant for that particular topic when I was mentoring that particular mentee. That kinda gave me the idea of having a few RPers specialise in that aspect of mentoring who could come in and consult with the actual mentor.

Can we have a translator?

I don't know what he means by formal as well, but I do understand that he wants to keep mentoring simple. I'll sign up for the mentoring guild, but my main expertise is going to be the Roleplayer's Guild. And I know very little about some areas of the forum, so...
