1. This act shall be titled as the Repeal of The Anti-NPO/NLO Act

Repeal
2. The Anti-NPO/NLO Act shall be struck null and void, and section 2.1 of the Citizenship and Demonym act shall be amended to read as follows:

Citizens are required to keep the nation which they gained membership with within the region unless they inform the person (or government agency) empowered to accept or reject citizenship applications by section 2.4 of this act.

I have brought this act to the floor at the request of Laurentus.  Comments?  Concerns?  Questions?

I would urge the Underhusen to consider this one way or another as soon as possible, since it will be out of commission for a few days after the election to select a Speaker.

What was the whole premise behind the citizenship ban?

As the person that initially proposed the ban, I suppose I can best answer this.

During the NPO coup and invasion of Lazarus in April, it was meant as a token of support to our treaty allies in the region who they were attempting to overthrow. It was also meant to help pile pressure on the NPO and to provide a model for other regions that may have had more significant relations with The Pacific (which we've never had) to do so.

I hated the Anti-NPO deal then... I hate it now... I'd love to repeal it, as we all know...

Well I'd be in favour of repealing it right now, because all that it seems to be doing now is keeping someone from getting citizenship who seems like a nice person...

I motion to expedite the Repeal of the Anti-NPO/NLO Act.

We should probably get this passed before the next Underhusen, because there's a bunch of procedural stuff at the beginning of every term...

Wintermoot pointed out that if we don't get this resolved before the end of the election cycle we it would take quite some time for it to be passed by the next Underhusen, as they would have to choose a Speaker and do all of the initial stuff before being able to pass any law. But I'll take your advice and chillax—a little.
