Merry Christmas!

Merry Fishmas

Families stick together, but they also fight. A lot.

I'm not really big into families...well, those related by blood at least. We've never had a close family...more the type that doesn't have much to do with each other. I really like the idea of people meeting and becoming part of the same life and becoming a sort of experience-bonded family though. Even then though I imagine there's some arguing...and not the cutesy arguing that takes place in a lot of visual novels.

I once lived in a house with a bunch of different people, and while I would die to save any of them now (and while we were all living together), because I've grown to care for each of them, I still eventually got fed up with sharing my space with so many people and all the fights it brought with it, and moved out. We still braai together a lot, but yeah. The reality doesn't very often live up to the ideal.

And my blood-related family is also pretty close, even though we fight a lot too.

P.S. Not physical fights, obviously, but growing up, there was a lot of that between me and my cousins.

I'm terrified at the thought of living with people (despite living my family now), I'd much prefer living alone even if it means living in a shitty/shittier residence. I think I have a somewhat accurate view of what the reality would be like, at least.

My dad's side of the family is very religious but generally nice people, they don't seem to fight much. My mom's side is... a clusterfuck, but it seems to have gotten better within the last few years. I'm spending Christmas with my dad's side and will be seeing some of my mom's side over spring break.

I don't know...maybe I've watched and played too many things involving small crews on space ships lately. Even though, I remember a long time ago I thought it would be neat to put together a bunch of those tiny Tumbleweed houses and like have a small, intimate community in the same vein.

I guess what I really want is to bring Wintreath into the real world.

The main problem for me, though, is that I'm still on S1 and won't have the time to catch up on GOT. I also doubt my ability to avoid spoilers.

Given the fact that in the Livejournal the author of it is talking about him being unable to finish the 6th book of a Song of Ice and Fire, and the author of that Livejournal post is George RR Martin, and that taulover has stated he hasn't even finished Season 1 of Game of Thrones, I would say no.

It's the "Notablog," which is George R.R. Martin's Livejournal. He basically just confirmed that he won't be able to finish ASOIAF Book 6 (The Winds of Winter) before Game of Thrones Season 6 comes out.

English is weird.
If a house burns up, it burns down.  You fill in a form by filling it out and an alarm clock goes off by going on.  You get in and out of a car, yet you get on and off a bus.  When the stars are out, they are visible, but when the lights are out, they are invisible. You park on the driveway, but drive on the parkway. You don't bite down, since your can only move your bottom jaw, thus you're really biting up.

I've read a lot of people (mainly 'purists') are planning on avoiding the HBO series until TWOW is out.

That's actually one of the reasons why I'm a bit nervous to become a writer, since what if I die before the last book is finished? Who is going to keep writing it in my place? Scary stuff.
