Is this an opportunity or a crisis?

not an opportunity.   I was told four days into the job I wasn't a good fit, no other reason given and after I was getting praise by the lead qa guy I worked with.

on top of that I am socially isolated from my family and since 1 Aug. my dad shut off my phone for not dealing with his shit and moving back to PA with him like an obedient Indian son -_-

Gov, you have NOTHING to lose by writing a letter and sending it certified, requesting the precise reason why you were terminated.  As someone who teaches business & HR, "Not a Good Fit" is the standard answer when they want to fire you for an illegal reason.  I would strongly hint that unless a reason consistent with the law is provided, you will consider a civil rights lawsuit for illegal termination.  (PS...In addition to being a flaming gay economist professor...I'm also an attorney :-)) 

As for moving back with dad.....WRONG.

Granted, it's NEVER simple when you're in the maelstrom of it.  But you eater stand up for yourself, or you spend a lifetime being kicked.  No other choice.

Four days into running our office myself and things haven't self-destructed quite yet. It's still be something of a trial by fire, with having to figure out solutions to problems my supervisor would have known off-hand, and some reports that I can't make heads or tells out of, but nothing that's freaked me out just yet.

85 days until my winter vacation, anyways.
