I've been getting back into them lately too. Actually, I've been listening to a lot of Coheed and Cambria, which I think you'd enjoy.

I'm checking them out on Wikipedia right now. How have I have I not heard of them?! They sound like exactly the type of band I'd enjoy.

What are some of their songs you enjoy most? Or judging by their description, I suppose they're the type of band that you have to listen to the entire album to appreciate it, much like Tool?

Looks like I need to fire up my long unused iTunes account.

Well, see, every album (except the latest one) is technically a concept album in this universe Claudio created. You don't have to understand the story to enjoy the music though. So I'd definitely recommend Good Apollo as their best album. It has Welcome Home, Blood Red Summer, and The Willing Well, which are fantastic. The Color Before the Sun is a great album too. Check out Island, Here to Mars, and You got Spirit Kid from that.

I'll most definitely give all of those a listen later today. I've been looking for new bands for awhile now.

I did some screwing today, man am I sore.

@Evelynx, @Laurentus, @Gerrick, @Point Breeze:  As a follow up, turns out I did not need to get my Xbox 360 serviced.  I just needed to replace the power brick (the power adaptor) for the 360, which was about US$35 for me at Gamestop here.  Not too bad.

Well, by the first one I'm now posting furry stuff, and the second one means exactly what it says

Welp, I finished my checkers game in python (which also uses pygame)

The game board and piece placement is done on-the-fly, at the start of the game. Meaning you could invert the placement of the pieces or the board itself by changing a few commands.

The game uses the standard American Checkers rules, on the standard 8x8 board.

I probably could use a bit of updating to make it more robust (like making it clear which one is selected). I wrote it all from scratch as well (If anyone wants it, I'll post a download link)

I wanted to make the pieces generated on-the-fly too, but I had issues with that, sadly.

I don't suppose you would try your hand at chess?

As in creating a chess game in python?

Yup.

I was actually planning on doing that, albeit after I finish up chess and after I port over my last major game (which is a rather basic TBS game). Chess would be a bit more complicated to port, however my last game would probably be a bit in-between Chess and Checkers to code (maybe a bit easier in some ways).

However I do definitely on creating it, and maybe doing some stuff to handle tournaments, if that is desired
