It is a time of chaos and strife. The Federated Monarchy of Wintreath, once spanning across the Wintrean Galaxy, is no more, only a small remnant remaining at the galactic core. In the wake of its destruction, countless wars erupted and tore across the stars. The galaxy's hyperlanes, once heavily trodden, were destroyed and forgotten in the chaos that followed, as enemies sought to gain the upper hand in petty conflicts. Short hyperspace jumps and slow warp drive travel could only connect neighboring systems, and any semblance of unity fell apart.

Now, almost a century later, explorers are finally reestablishing long-forgotten connections between civilizations. As societies that have rebuilt from the fall of Wintreath once again come into contact with each other, newer nations that were never part of the galactic community also emerge from the unknown regions of the galaxy. Only time will tell how the new galactic order will emerge, whether it be in war or peace...

So this is a pretty generic sci-fi nations RP. The premise is inspired by Aura Hyperia's two RP's, which was in turn inspired largely by Foundation. The tech here will likely be largely Star Wars style (though depending on your civilization's tech level, may differ).

Is this in the same time period/location as the space expedition RP we have going, or further in the future? Either way, I'm interested. My only concern would be that we should focus this more on diplomacy than exploration and discovery once it takes off - having it too similar to the current RP would lead to one or the other receiving less activity, which wouldn't be ideal.

No, this is either millennia into the future, or in a completely different timeline.

And yes, this will be focusing more on diplomacy between nations, and potentially awesome space battles! (From experience, awesome space battles are fun. Of course, RP conventions necessitate that the results be determined beforehand, but they're still fun to read and write.)

It would also be cool to incorporate a few different races.

And to Bodobol's concerns, this is going to be a national RP. That would make it immediately completely different from WintEx (Wintreath Space Explorations).

My concerns have been addressed, I'm no longer worried about any potential conflicts between RPs. I look forward to giant space battles. >:)

I agree with Laurentus' statement regarding different races. As for tech, I have no opinion on where we should draw inspiration from.
