Well I have two versions of this idea. Whichever sounds better we can expand more upon.

Version A:

Tech: Enlightenment Era (One shot pistols/rifles. Sword Combat still popular)

Premise: The Region of Wintreath has decided to explore unknown lands in the world. They send out an exploration force of trusted individuals to discover and chart unknown areas of interest.

Genre: Fantasy

Setting: Unexplored Land, so random setting as you go. You could be exploring jungles,forests, and more.

Version B:

Tech: Futuristic

Premise: The Region of Wintreath has recently funded a program to explore the Final Frontier. They send out a cruiser led by a Captain. They bring along scientists to examine materials and explorers to explore Planets/Asteroids.

Genre: Sci-Fi

Setting: Anything in Space.

Please give out any ideas to expand onto these. I would like the lore/RP to be created by ideas of the community

Is this intended to be a national RP (i.e. where we roleplay as our NS nations)? Or a one-off character RP? Either way, sounds cool to me. I have more interest in Version A, but I'd still gladly participate in Version B as well.

For now its intended to be a character RP. Your character could be from your nation though.

I support Version A.

I'm not the biggest fan of future tech, its much easier to establish things a setting in the past then to guess the future, and anybody can pull anything out of their arse because FOOOOOOTUUURE.

I like both. With future tech, you can't just get away with anything if you manage it properly. Just ask @taulover, @Aragonn, and @Colberius X.

So anyway, I'm down with either.

If we happen to end up doing Version B, I think something on a (relatively) small scale would be neat. Maybe exploring a couple of nearby planets/moons/other objects, more PMT than FT.

The way we limit FT and FT:FTL is by basing it on a system like Imperium of Man tech from Warhammer 40 000, and having a Research and Development thread for it too. It's amazingly effective.

The IC and OOC threads? Just post it here in the guild for now, and then I'll sticky it at some point.

If the guilds experiment ends up being a success, that could change, but for now, we can do it that way.

Since I was mentioned in this thread, I might as well say something.

Pulling something out your ass because "FOOOOOOTUUURE" is dumber than two idiots trying to figure out how to bang a rock. There's science and there's bullshit.

Honestly, I'd be down for option B because you can find some really wild things in space. Not much life, but weather and environments can be pretty extreme. I'd go with option A if it's the popular pick, but I like B better.
