So obviously we can't have a Roleplayers' Guild without a RP.

What type of RP would people be interested in? There has been mention of a national RP, where we roleplay as actual countries, and I have some ideas of how we can do that too, but I'd first like to gain some insight into what people understand by the term "national RP" and what genres they would like it to play out in.

We're also going to need a cartographer to help us with maps soon. I nominate @Gerrick to join the guild and help us with this. It would be an honour to work with you.

Yeah, I'd be happy to join! I don't know how much longer I'll have access to the software I used in college as it is just a free trial and its too expensive for me to buy, but I can still use some of the things I learned towards map-making to help you guys.

I like national RPs. By "national RP" I mean being able to worldbuild your nation and utilize various characters that you create for your nation. I prefer a more simple approach to tech and economy, with less numerical stats and more reliance on the story-writing. And any genre is fine to me.

All of this goes for me as well; I'd gladly participate in such an RP, and I don't have much preference for genre either.

I've always liked the idea of a regional organization similar to the EU, UN, or WA - I tried to establish one in a region I cofounded around two years ago, and it went well while it lasted, but the entire region tore itself apart after like a month so it didn't last. 
But perhaps that could be an onrunning roleplay of sorts, kind of like the NSG Senate. Perhaps this organization's founding - if the idea is well-received, of course - would make for a decent RP or something, idk.

I have an idea for a roleplay that I could update at the weekends....

What do you mean by future/modern exactly? Because if that what I think well my nation won't fit in it.

I can't stress enough that we absolutely will not be limited to a singe roleplay. I think I should go ahead and open a section where we can suggest roleplays that we'd want to open.

I agree about multiple roleplays. Opening a suggestion thread should help.

Either modern or futuristic.  I'm fine with either.
