Don't worry about the inexperience, everyone has to start somewhere. I'll be rolling out a few guides in the next couple of days too, to direct our more inexperienced RPers to.

Could you perhaps include the type of experience you have? (Character; Faction; National).

He is asking for which type of roleplay you are familiar with, character, faction or national.
Sapphiron is correct, but to be a bit more precise:
Character: where you control one character at a time for the duration of the RP.
Faction: where you control more than one, up to a fair number of characters in a faction. Usually works in something like a city that's controlled by rival factions who each seek to spread their influence further, but the setting and genre can be anything.
National: where you control an entire nation. This is perhaps the most complex type of RP, as the amount of characters you could control is nearly limitless.
