  • Can we nominate games before they come out? If so, I nominate Fallout 4. If not, then I nominate New Vegas.

  • It has to be a game people can play together cheaply or freely, if I recall correctly. @Wintermoot?

Also, I'm sorry I forgot about that part in the OP.

That makes sense. I won't even be playing FO4 as I don't have anything to play it on, but I'm hyped for it nonetheless. :P

Hm, I tried to think of another to nominate but I don't play many games. If I think of one, I'll post here again.

  • You know you don't have to ask Wintermoot, you could just ask me for clarification since I started the Game of the Month threads.  :P

Technically you can really recommend any games you want, but the purpose is to have games that everyone can play and talk about together, so if you're going to recommend a game that has to be bought, it'd recommended at least to stick to ones that are exceptionally cheap and older (IE Diablo II, Warcraft III, Starcraft & Brood War, Age of Empires,I or II, etc...), games that are free to play online/free to download (Flash Flash Revolution, DC Universe, etc...), game remakes that are available to download for free from the maker's website and are supported by the original makers (King's Quest 1-3 VGA, etc...), or games that don't give profit back to the companies anymore (Any NES to N64 era, GBC to GBA era, and Dos/Abandonware).

But due to the newer-ish ones being expensive (PS3 era to current including DS), being something not everyone has anymore (PS2/Gamecube/Xbox), or being something that still sells digitally for the companies (PS1, popular NES, SNES, and N64 titles), those usually aren't recommended, of course.  :P  We want to support the game companies when we can, especially if they're good companies.  :D

  • Off that note, I'd like to recommend a favorite of mine.  It's not a multiplayer game and everyone would have to either download DOSbox and/or ScummVM or surprise me by having computers that can still play it.

But in light of the King's Quest remake/retelling by Sierra, I'd actually like to recommend the classic King's Quest games.

I think it's a fantastic series that I think everyone needs to try at least once.  It's an incredibly lighthearted fantasy point and click game that follows the strict PaC formula from back in the day, and it's overall just a very clever, rewarding if you make the right choices, and punishing if you make the wrong ones type of series that gives you great laughs along the way.

You can find each of the games on GoG.com, and you can find the enhanced versions of 1-3 (fan made free enhancements supported by the original makers) on http://www.agdinteractive.com/games/games.html

If you wish not to buy them, they ARE also available on My Abandonware.  But I would recommend buying them through GoG because their website is actually pretty awesome with all of the classic games that they pull up and support.

There are 7 total games (I don't count Mask of Eternity as authentic):
    *Quest for the Crown
    *Romancing the Stone
    *To Heir is Human
    *The Perils of Rosella
*Absence makes the Heart grow Yonder
    *Heir today, Gone Tomorrow
    *The Princeless Bridge

And then of course, the brand new King's Quest game which is out, and is a game I highly recommend to anyone that plays and enjoys these titles.

  • I nominate any of the Rebuild games. I've only played 1 and 2, and considering we just survived a zombie apocalypse it seems appropriate. Also, they are free.

@Crushita Telkontar, I'm just trying to confirm whether you want to nominate Rimworld. I've marked it "pending confirmation" in the meantime.
