I've gotten my call up papers. Fortunately, I'm going to home team academy, which basically means police. Unfortunately, I have to go on the 11th of November.

It sounds like you got something you like...or dislike less...at least. What does that mean for you though? Will you be away from us for awhile?

I've always wanted to be a police officer, and this gives me a direct path to become a professional one, so I'm mostly happy. However, I probably will be out of contact after November for a few months. Although, because its the police and not the army, after those few months, it should be back to normal. Honestly, this is my best case scenario.

I'm really happy for you since this is what you wanted...when I was looking at Equinox I saw the topic you made about being worried about ending up in the army, so it'd been at the back of my mind since. And...at least you have a few weeks with us.

I know. And I think that the right thing to do is to resign from the UH, which I intend to do.

Is it? Regular election campaigning starts two weeks after the 11th...it could very well be best to wait until then and leave the seat open until then so we avoid a special election, but that's just my personal opinion. You still have a month to do the things you wanted to do.

Its a tough call. I will be busier now more than ever. I have to wrap up things at work, get my affairs in order andstudy for an exam that ends 3 days before I'm called up. Its really a tough call.

I'll stick around for a little while (two weeks) to try and get a couple of things I want passed.

No more than 3 months. I'll have to go in for HTA and training but after that it should be back to normal.

That's good news...I'm glad you'll be back relatively soon.

And then hopefully a long and happy career in the police begins.
