I was just thinking, NationStates is never quite what anyone expects or believes it will be when they join. I'm curious, when you were joining up, what did you imagine NS would be?

God, who knows what I was expecting?  I think I joined because I wanted an intellectual sort of game to play.  I always enjoyed RTS games, city simulators, things like that that put me in charge of a large...project.  I sort of thought NS would be the same thing.  That probably explains why my first activity outside of answering issues was in the World Assembly.

I think I was expecting something more interactive...answering two issues a day was really boring compared to what I was expecting, so had it not been for being recruited to a community I probably would have quickly left.

It amazes me that so much has sprung from a game that was intended to just promote a book. 

I signed up for the hookers and blow. Was sorely disappoint.

Somehow I doubt you were very disappointed if those were your aims, Jone.

Yeah, it's crazy how most of the 'game' has absolutely nothing to do with the actual game...I guess that speaks to the imagination and the boredom of people, haha.

To be honest I had no expectations whatsoever. Mainly because beyond issues I had no idea what NS was all about.
