I have absolutely zero interest in Steam Machines, but I'll be looking forward to acquiring a Steam Controller if they get positive reviews and once the price gets a little lower.
Even in the EU, some of the consoles, since the PS2, are considered essentially special PCs since they get a special computer tax on them in certain countries.
Since I don't think that country is Finland, I'd be very keen to hear where that actually applies?
Usually we're the country that loves to create additional taxes for everything. But more to the point, just some stupid tax doesn't really make something more or less like a pc, such tax only tells about greedy government.
I was under the impression that the original Xbox actually had fairly pc-like hardware.

Steam OS is Debian based, which is not really the least bit surprising since the recommended Linux for running Steam was Ubuntu.
I wonder if Valve encourages (by giving better terms for example) indie developers to support Linux and how Steam Machines will change Valve's relationships with for example EA if Steam Machine becomes a well selling hit, it is after all a brilliant move that lifts Valve into the big boys league alongside with Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo.
