This has generated quite a bit of discussion on the New Hyperion RMB, and I'm quite curious what some of our citizen's results will be.

This test is fairly accurate, though not 100%. I'd advise taking what you read with a grain of salt, as with all tests of this nature, but even so, it's quite useful.

We could even turn this into a bit of a game where we try to guess what type certain members are.

For example, I guess that:

1. Wintermoot = ISTP
2. Point Breeze = ENTJ
3. Reon = INTJ
4. Pengu = INFJ
5. Anneliese = ENFJ
6. Sapphiron = ISTJ

These are the ones I feel somewhat comfortable with guessing. If your name isn't on this list, it means I couldn't get a read on you at all.

I pride myself on being difficult to read, although it might just be that I am quiet so I am not going to give anyone the chance to guess mine...

I also really like doing tests like these, just to see what they say about me. I always feel they should factor that in, in some way 

Anyway after answering the questions I got INFP -T, or "the Mediator"... from the description it does sound somewhat like me but I'd like to think I am more logical than it suggests but I don't know.

That's one of its shortcomings. It doesn't adjust its description according to each specific balance, so if someone only has like 5 percentage points more of a Feeling score, it still treats them as someone with a 100% preference for making decisions based on sentiment or feeling.

Also, just because your type is more Feeling than Thinking, it absolutely does not exclude the possibility that you're a genius.

Actually, I tend to switch between the E and the I, but you guessed right on the nose for the rest.  During my school years I definitely was much more of an INFJ since I was very quiet and to myself the majority of the time.

Since graduating, moving to where I'm at now, and with my current job, I've been very much more extroverted and outgoing than I used to ever be (except when I was a wee child).  So really the NFJ part is pretty set in stone, but the I and the E just varies depending on how things in my life are, and right now it's 56% in the E category according to that test.

I've never had an E thing going. My only fluctuation concerns the P/J score.

It would be a misconception to say that introverts are shy or have poor social skills. While this could be true in many cases, all introversion means is that I lose energy in social situations instead of gaining it. So obviously that's why I like to socialise with few people at a time, instead of at massive parties or events.

That said, would someone like to guess what I am? Colby, Aragonn and Tau already know, so obviously they shouldn't spoil it.

I'll give this guess a shot, I might not know you that well, but it is worth a try, to see how good I am at this

You manage situations in much the same way as Colby, who is also an ENTJ. What do you think of the test and the theory, however?

Some of the questions are pretty abstract. They force you into a dichotomy when in reality its not a "choice" you make between option A and option B. I prefer True Colors, which has a much more accessible testing mechanism than this.
