I like my steak Medium Rare or Rare. 

Have you ever heard of a series called The Farseer Trilogy? The writer, Robin Hobb, is actually good friends with George R.R. Martin, and it is amazing how their works inspire each other.

And as for the reading: please?

Though in all seriousness, I understand if you'd rather not. I can only imagine how many people's ideas have been stolen that way.

A Series of Unfortunate Events was both beautiful and funny in a horribly depressing sort of way. I loved those books.

If I recall correctly, Hemingway was a master with using as few words to tell a story as possible, which he demonstrated with the following.

"For Sale: Baby Shoes, Never Worn."

That's some skill.

Hey I still get nourishment from the cow.  Meat, like dairy and cheese, should not be wasted.

I'm an ordained Shaman and Druid with a love of all things Celtic and Norse.

I can't restrain myself on the first draft. I usually destroy pages worth of words on assignments when I'm done with my first draft, so respect for being able to keep control on your first draft.

I've found that newspaper editors and journalists can really teach many writers of fiction a thing or two about keeping their shit together.

Oh I only use about 10% of what I write in my first draft.  I let it all out and accept it will be terrible.  But then I edit the CRAP out of it.

Who's the best you've seen with foreshadowing?

GRRM, while terrible in most instances when it comes to pure writing style, amazes me with his foreshadowing.
