  • For a game from the 80s, it looked pretty damn fun! It's interesting that the gun technology didn't really go very far after that, especially now that we have so many FPS games. You could bundle it with a VR headset and really create an immersive experience.

The real question, is who in Wintreath would win at Duck Hunt? :D

  • 1st person: She was so happy to kill the ducks.  XD

2nd person: Didn't do too bad.

3rd person: He didn't do too bad.

4th person: lol, he's into it.  LAUGH AT THAT HOMEBOY.

5th person: Damn, he did good.

6th person: She got 9! XD

    2nd round:

    1st person: lol wrecked.

2nd person: Aww, well he did alright.

3rd person:  Lol, now SHE'S getting into it.  XD

4th person: AH, he almost had a perfect score.

    3rd round:

1st person: Haha, she said exactly how I felt about the dog.

2nd person: Well he did good at least!

3rd person: Heh, I like how he's counting all of them.  Too bad he missed one.

    Round 4:

1st person: lol, everyone hates the dog.

2nd person: "I want an NES"  She knows where it's at!

3rd person: Perfect score, well done.

    Round 5:

1st person: First time I've ever heard someone say they were proud when they saw the dog.

2nd person: Well done, another perfect score.

3rd person: LOL, one shot without looking, LIKE A BOSS.

    Round 6:

1st person: At least he got 9!

2nd person: Glad to hear teenagers enjoy the game.  And lol at him not even trying anymore.

3rd person: Glad she finally got a perfect score!

Round 7 (Damn, they go for a while)

2nd person: "They're getting faster, and it's scary!" XD

    Round 8:

1st person: "YOU NEED TO CALM DOWN."

    I'm stopping there, it's obvious they're going for a while.  :P

Poor Torie was doing so well.  I liked the growling that happened when some of them missed.  XD  I like how the one guy really isn't trying, but is explaining a lot of his shoots "Boom, behind the tree."  He's really enjoying himself in that game.  I can say that I've never made it that far into the game myself, before.  I think I made it to round...5?  I'm amazed they're getting so far, though.  I'm a little surprised the one guy lost, I figured he was going to be the one to get to the highest round.

  • If I recall correctly, Ethan got further in the game, but Seth got the most points on account of getting more 'perfect' bonus points at the end of the rounds. It was just awesome watching them have such a good time with it...I vaguely remember playing it once on a neighbor's NES, but I can't even remember how it went.

Perhaps Nintendo should re-release the Zapper and Duck Hunt as a party game for the Wii U. :P

  • Only if they update the Zapper.  As far as I recall (and saw in the video), the Zapper itself was inherently flawed in being able to accurately shoot in the area that you actually pointed at.  But considering we're talking about essentially the first console-model gaming gun, I'm not surprised.

  • I think it's probably possible for them to update it seeing how things have evolved a little bit in the last 30 years. :P

  • The Zapper really is an interesting piece of tech, albeit not very advanced. It's basically a light sensor, when you press the trigger, the screen turns black except for whatever you're aiming at, which would be a white square. The gun sensed either a miss, no light or a hit, light. It's very rudamentary tech, but a very clever solution to the problem of not being able to sense motion in a reasonable manner at that time.
