Greetings, new Underhusen! I look forward to working with you throughout this term, but first we have to get some business taken care of: the selection of a Speaker for this session. While normally candidates would have 48 hours to stand for election, I will be utilizing Section 8a of the Underhusen procedures to shorten that time to 19 hours due to the run-off elections (and my having fallen asleep before midnight). So get moving if you want to stand!

Voting begins at midnight tomorrow.

I'll go ahead and stand for Speaker.

I second Pengu's nomination.

I support that nomination.

Who doesn't like a Pengu as speaker?
He probably won't betray us all and declare war on every other region.

That reminds me, I have a new act to introduce known as the "Declaration of Battlements on Nationstates" act.

As Pengu is the only person who stood, I'm going to use the same clause to do away with the election, as Pengu would win it by default. Congrats Pengu!
