Given you'd be putting a good effort into helping give it back to the rightful people, I'm sure someone could vouch for you in letting you be there in some capacity.

The legitimate government doesn't exactly have the power to banject Gov from the region if he wants to help even if they wanted to at the moment, and I would suspect it'd be happy to receive any help it can get.

I was assuming he meant after the liberation.  But even in the sense you mean, I'd agree with you that I'm sure they'd much rather welcome the help in getting control of Lazarus back.

As required, I am informing the community that I have seen fit to declare Yao (aka Milograd) persona non grata for his role in supporting the NPO invasion, as seen during the 12 hours he was given the Lazarus delegacy in order to ban and eject additional high-influence natives. It should also be noted that Milograd was the person behind the coup of The South Pacific in April 2013, a transgression that the greater NationStates community, myself included, eventually forgave, something I have no intention of doing this time around. Yeah, I remember that one perfectly.  I was actually quite surprised when people were being chummy with him after the South Pacific thing.  I'm pretty sure it'll happen again eventually after this, and the NPO will just keep going after more areas.  <_<  But they've already got the Pacific under their thumb, I'm just hoping all of the GCRs don't become part of the NPO.  :\

If people continue to fail to recognize the danger that the NPO presents to the GCRs, that may happen. The NPO has shown an incredible ability to think long-term, to withstand and outlast the normal diplomatic sanctions, and to take measures to limit and restore any damage done to their reputations over time. The NPO is not an organization that should be underestimated, and regions that do so do at their own risk.

That's my concern on this as well.  They planted themselves well into Lazarus and waited this long to stage a coup.  That makes me wonder where else they've planted themselves, and whether or not they're already planting the seeds of future coups in other regions.  The fact that people know how cunning Milo can be and still let him pretty much do what he pleases is baffling to me, especially the larger regions that he digs his roots into.  Seeing what happened to both Lazarus and South Pacific...and even arguably the Pacific (even though he's technically not behind that, although he may have had a hand) should send red flags to other regions with him or other NPO lackies in it that they could be planning something against them.

Never underestimate the force of opportunism in gameplay. It will trump principle nearly every time.

Indeed.  And the fact that Milo and the NPO have proven how ambitious they can be, it's sad that people keep underestimating them.

Most people think of how Milograd and the NPO can help them today or this week. The NPO thinks of how they can use that to help themselves in a year or two.

The defender community is quick to trust coupers and raider turncoats like Cormac, yet people with social issues are treated like fucking terrorists. 

I have never trusted Milo for thos reason and it looks like I was right.

I explained the phenomena here back in January. I guess I answered my own question...this is why regions shouldn't jump at the chance.

You know, I'm surprised that none of you has mentioned Balder's recent descent into Francoism, or the fact that Elegarth seems in prime position to take over TWP after Darkesia.
