Goodness gracious  ... Can the next Underhusen handle this Act? I don't think that such a short paragraph with no specific examples of her achievements does Amalya justice for all her contributions to the Wintreath family.

I'm on the fence about the descriptiveness.  I don't think a short paragraph does much justice, but I don't think an exceptionally long winded post noting all of her accomplishments and achievements (which span quite a bit) would do her justice either.  While I don't know Amalya to the extent as others here, she doesn't seem the type to me that would bask in the fact that she did all of those things...but rather than the fact that she did them just to do them.

So I think noting her accomplishments and being a bit more descriptive about her impact on Wintreath is definitely needed, but as long as it's not overly saturated.  We want to honor Amalya, but that also means honoring her in the sense that we'd know she'd want.

To be honest I'm not even sure it's possible to do such, which is why I opted for a short paragraph, it's the best summary I could do.

It's definitely possible to at the very least state a few specific examples. The lack of effort is glaring. Just to throw out a list that I posted when Amalya was chosen as the Citizen of the Month.

I would like to recommend Amalya for a Wintreath Commendation.

I actually do like this, but it hurries on a bit.  Perhaps adding to it.

With the recent events occurring to our beloved Jarl of Culture, Amalya Meindhert The Storting hereby grants her Paragon Status and gives her the Wintreath Commendation for her services to Wintreath as the Jarl of Culture, her embodiment of the very values of Wintreath, and her loyalty to Wintreath and the quality of her work.

The storting recognizes the efforts that Amalya Meindhert has put into the betterment of Wintreath.   Her efforts as the Jarl of Culture alone have helped push Wintreath along into the beginning stages of prosperity and growth, and her influence is seen in practically every new cultural area that appears within the Region.

Through her time in the region, Amalya was elevated to a Countess because of her continued efforts and interest in the betterment of our region, and was named as Wintreath's first Citizen of the month.  But through her actions and kind nature alone, she has become an essential pillar to our community.

And so it is with great enthusiasm that we, the storting, commend Amalya for her efforts.  We commend her for her services, loyalty, quality of work, and embodiment of the very values of Wintreath, and elevate her to the status of a Paragon in recognition.

That's just a rough draft that you or anyone else is welcome to pick at...but it's an idea. I realize it's not completely detailed with more examples of what she's done...but those don't really have to be stated point for point for people to know that she is a huge part of our community.

If we are to go according to the precedents, the achievements and accomplishments will be presented in a list instead of an essay-like commendation.

I think there's a balance to be struck here...I know Daphne wouldn't want to be harked over, but at the same time at some point in the future people are going to read laws like this and will want to know why she was elevated to such a status, knowing that Paragonhood is reserved for those who have had a great and lasting impact on the region.

I think Pengu's draft strikes a good balance, though it could use some elaboration...here's a proposal:

The Storting recognizes the efforts that Amalya Meindhert has put into the betterment of Wintreath. Her efforts as the Jarl of Culture, including the establishment and running of the Chasing the American Dream roleplay, Wintreath Radio, and other contests and events have helped push Wintreath along into the beginning stages of prosperity and growth, and her influence is seen in practically every new cultural area that appears within the Region. We further recognize her service to this Storting as Speaker of the Fourth Underhusen.

Through her time in the region, Amalya has been elevated to Countess because of her continued efforts and interest in the betterment of our region, and was named as Wintreath's first Citizen of the month by the Citizens of the region. However, her greatest impact on our community is through her friendliness, perseverance, loyalty, compassion, and openness that has made her such a friend and role model to so many here and made her an essential pillar of our community.

And so it is with great enthusiasm that we, the storting, commend Amalya for her efforts. We commend her for her services, loyalty, quality of work, and embodiment of the very values of Wintreath, and elevate her to the status of a Paragon in recognition.

I like that much better, actually.  the additions didn't make it lengthy, but they still give a great idea of why she's very much deserving of the honor of becoming a paragon.

Will this be the standard format for future commendations?

I don't know if it will, but I think in Amalya's case, it's an exception.  It's not overly descriptive but tells quite a bit, and confining her accomplishments to a list just doesn't feel like it does her justice.

I actually prefer the essay style of commendation since it shows much more appreciation as compared to merely listing down the accomplishments of the individual.

Edit: Just noticed a slight error in the Act. I believe "storting" should be capitalized, right?

And so it is with great enthusiasm that we, the storting, commend Amalya for her efforts.

It should be, I don't know why I forgot to capitalize it in that area.
