We have one person that stood for Speaker, but the procedural rules still require a 48-hour vote. So...

Well Chanku, but the last time it was just Hugsim we didn't have a vote. So I'm wondering why we must have one now.

8.At the Conclusion of each election, the Monarch shall immediately open poll within the halls of the Underhusen, where prospective candidates will have 48 hours to stand as a candidate for Speaker of the Underhusen. Following the 48 hour period, all Skrifa may have one vote for Speaker of the Underhusen. The poll will remain open for 48 hours or until all elected Skrifa have voted and no tie for doing so has occurred. The Speaker shall be chosen by popularity vote.
(a)The time period may be shortened by the descretion of the Monarch if there is a tie vote for the Underhusen or the time that the Skrifa have office is shortened for any reason other than a Recall.

As you can see, there is no latitude given in changing how long the vote lasts except if there's a tie for Underhusen or time in office is shortened. My previous declaration appears to have been in error, although doing away with a vote in instances like this would be more efficient.

Technically your previous declaration could have not been in error due to amendment VI being passed that term, however you essentially made a declaration that bypassed Underhusen Procedure, however you can no longer do that.

Either way, we agree that there must be an election.

So what if no one votes now? Would Chanku still win by having the most votes with 0 against nothing?

I'm curious, do you find the inactivity of the Underhusen to be amusing?

I vote for Chanku as well, by the way... Just to erase Hugsims rather interesting 0 vote situation...

I just don't think many people outside the Underhusen find it amusing, that's all.
