Voting for the Underhusen and Citizen of the Month are now open! For the Underhusen, rank all candidates in order of preference. The top five will win via the first-past-the-post system, but this method will help us consider alternative voting systems in the future. For the Citizen of the Month vote, vote for only one candidate. You may post your ballot in this topic, or PM it to me if you wish for your ballot to remain private. Ballots will be counted and the results will be given at the end of the election one week from today. Good luck to all our candidates!

You're far from the only one. We're exploring the difficulties in switching to another vote system, and we sure seem to have ran into one!

Also, after reading up on the nuances of the single transferable vote, I've decided to allow multiple candidates to be ranked at the same level, so long as your top five are clear, and allow voters to not list candidates at all on a ballot. Again, I want to emphasize that we are using the traditional first-past-the-post system, but will also be holding a mock election based on these results using the single transferable vote methodology.

It would appear to be. It wasn't my doing...anyone could have campaigned if they wanted.

Indeed.  Considering nominations started on the 24th, anyone could have started campaigning during that time.
