Hello everyone! Pengu here.

Now, there's many different ideas out there that I could bring to the table for when it comes to keeping Wintreath's culture fresh and alive and may grab the interest of our ally regions.

However, a big part of keeping our cultural side fresh and interesting is getting input from those outside of myself who are a monumental part of Wintreath's culture...namely everyone here.

So I'd like to ask all of you: What would you like to see more of around Wintreath?  What are some things that would catch your interest, things you'd love to take part in?

Werewolf is only one of the many interactive forum games out there.  Are there any others that you'd want to see introduced on Wintreath?

As it stands, we have no regional newspaper.  We do have private publications such as the Wintreath Guardian and the Wuufu Warble.  An idea would be having a newspaper that encompasses everything about Wintreath and functions like a newspaper, having member contributions to articles/sections such as interviews, word games/riddles, reviews, important highlights/articles, a Dear Abby/advice column, and anything else that people could think of.  The name could be voted on by members, and it could be set up in a way so that there could always be a new article t osee.

The "_______ of the month threads" are always a great way to pull someone into an interest that they haven't tried before.  I realize that Wintreath is not full of gamers, so branching out is definitely an idea as well.

Everyone loves a good contest, and there's many types that could be done on Wintreath. There could be RP contests, short stories, poetry, and so much more.  The only issue with contests are generally the prizes, but this is something that could be discussed with the monarch as well as the appropriate people if interest in having more regional contests was high enough.

And of course, other ideas that I may not have listed are definitely very welcomed.  The point of this thread is to hear what you guys would like to see around Wintreath when it comes to our cultural side.   What do you feel we can add or continue to pursue to help Wintreath thrive?

To add to this thread, you're also perfectly allowed to post your ideas for new games/contests, events and the like that you believe will be good to have on Wintreath.  Do you have an idea you're not entirely sure about?  Feel free to share it on here, and our culture ministry and fellow citizens will be more than happy to help you out either in here, or in PM if you prefer. 

Remember that no idea is a stupid or bad idea, so any that you have are welcomed and appreciated.

I guess it's up to me to get this ball rolling.

I think they would all be good ideas, but interactive games seem to be particularly successful here...they're good things to promote to other regions, people here seem interested in them, and they drive activity.

That's true that interactive games seem to be one of our biggest draws.  I think for until the activity picks up a bit again, we'll stick to the ones we have unless others want to try out their ideas, and once activity does pick up again I'll start introducing more of the games that I had planned to introduce.

Having a regional newspaper would be pretty cool. Assuming we could gain enough people to actually make it functional.

It could help with everyone, especially newer players, get into what's going on in the region and make it more accesible. As well as making it easier for our allies to see what's going on as well.

I voted for the newspaper but I think interactive games are a good idea but only if people play them.

this is something i'd like to see; some sort of creative contest. i'd be glad to take part in such an event or judge.

also - maybe a sort of subforum for creative stuff? it could be a subforum of the dumping grounds or howling wind tavern. i'm a boring stereotypical angsty teen and i love to post that sort of stuff everywhere, so i could provide a bit of activity for an initial boost. 

back when i was part of lazarus we had a subforum like that - it wasn't super active, but it was still neat and got some traffic.

We had a forum for creative things for a time...it only got like 25 posts in three months, so I removed it. I would be happy to bring it back if there's a demonstrated desire for one. The best way to show that would be to create and participate in creative sorts of topics.

You forgot to mention that half of the 25 posts were mine, at least I believe they were. 

But I agree that if people want to see it happen, we need to show that Wintreath will do great with one.  Show why Wintreath needs one, and whatnot. 

Demonstrate the desire, and be rewarded with the result and whatnot.

We could have some sort of giant region-wide factbook of the many cultures and stories of the nations of Wintreath, like an encyclopedia of sorts. I know this probably won't add to community involvement, but I suppose some might be interested in reading about the histories of Wintrean societies to see what makes the region unique. Come to think of it, the language of that extends itself well to including regional history as canon to go along with that. I could help compile some of the information from existing nation factbooks if you'd like.

I also heard talks going around a few months ago on the Wintreath NS message board about possibly creating a map.
