It was a cold day in Metro Village; the temperatures reaching a low of 5 degrees Fahrenheit. Snowflakes gently glided down from the white winter sky, dancing slowly as they made their way down before gently touching the ground. December was always the time that the snow had fallen the most, covering the village and making it resemble a white and icy town.
On the usual days in their usual ways, the people of Metro Village lived peaceful lives, going about their days in a carefree sort of way. Friends greeted friends in the little bustling market area, bartering items for trade and keeping themselves busy with the daily cycle. It was a city without a king or even a formal government, relying on the will of the people and the nearby resources of the Great Forest, as well as the waters of the Mystic Mountains to keep them alive. These were a people that were normally in tune with the feel of nature, killing the fauna only when needed to survive, and finding ways to survive more on the local plant life. Everything in this village was as perfect and loving as could be.
…at least, until the cold night of December third.
The sound had come out of nowhere and confused the villagers; it was a sound that they had never heard before that had woken them from their sleep. It was a sound that was shrill and high pitched, something that had given a feeling of fear and dread to the once sleeping villagers. As they made their way out of their wooden houses, they gathered to the source of the sound; a young girl sprawled on the ground and covered in blood. A woman who had seen the body had covered her mouth in terror, and another mimicked a similar dread-filling scream at the sight.
Another sound had joined in…the sound of growling. As a villager looked in surprise, he was met with a single pair of crimson eyes before he was carried off into the night before anyone had even noticed. An older woman was also carried off by a similar source, as if she was being carried off by the very shadows of night themselves. Following were sounds of screams in the distance from the two victims…but the screams were more unusual until they had shifted into howls. The villagers hearing this had wondered what this could have meant.
The sun had all but abandoned the cold day following the gruesome blanket of night. The villagers had quietly made their way out of the houses—they had taken refuge as they heard the low growls prowling their village once again—and could only wonder if they were safe. Why had the creatures avoided bursting in their houses? Some had began to think that they couldn’t stand the light, which was why they had crept in the shadows.
As they had wondered, a group of travelling warriors had entered the small village. “Please, you must save us!” one had cried out to one of the warriors. They had told the warriors the entire story as they drank a pint of ale in the local tavern. To the villagers’ relief, the warriors had decided to help, asking only for a handful of people to help them to find the source of the shadow. A few had reluctantly agreed, and the hunt had begun.
At last, they had come face to face with the villains; a group of wolves that could somehow walk and even talk like normal humans. The confrontation was about to begin to decide the fate of the village until the universe decided to intervene…
The sky began to glow unusually, as everyone had become too distracted by it and shifted their gaze. A meteor of unusual colors and origin was flowing across the sky, heading in their direction. The people in the village panicked and fled to the safety of their homes…but the two parties were unusually entranced by the sight of the meteor as it crashed nearby. Both groups had looked each other curiously as they made their way to the curious meteor.
Upon approaching the meteor, they each reached out and touched it, and were all immediately delivered an unusual sort of electrocution upon touch. Your fates, and the fate of this world, have been sealed. A voice had called out into their heads as their bodies had been engulfed in different colors of light. When the lights disappeared, the bodies were transported to the village, each back in human form. But each had a brand on their hand marking an unusual identity, though it could only be seen by them. As one tried to explain to his partner who he was, he seemed to forget what he was talking about before he could even explain it. Whatever had happened, they couldn’t know who anybody was since they couldn’t say it themselves…so who were the killers?
Roles:
Knightman: At night, this villager can touch the brand on his hand and become Knightman; a burly man dawning glittering silver armor with a blue cape. Knightman has the power to defend a player each night. Simply speak to the stars in the sky and tell them who you wish to defend, and it shall be done. Knightman cannot defend the same person twice in a row.
Seerman: At night, this villager can touch the brand on his hand and become Seerman; a meek man with a powerful intellect, dawning brilliant white robes with a silver cape and carrying a white oak staff. Seerman has the power to scan a player each night. Simply ask the stars about someone in the group, and they shall tell you that person’s role.
Wolfman: At night, these villagers can touch the brand on their hands and become Wolfman: a huge and intimidating man-beast that prays on human flesh, using its camouflage fur to blend into the cover of night. each player in this role work together as Wolfman, deciding together each night who to kill next. If one is lynched, the others will continue the work themselves.
Everyman: These villagers were given the short end of the stick, having no unique powers whatsoever outside of the power of teamwork. During each night, these villagers will sleep in their homes. During each day, the villagers will work together to figure out which of the group are Wolfman, and which are the good guys. They will vote as a majority against who they think is a Wolfman, and the player with the most votes against them will be killed.
Rules:
*Every Day Phase is 48 hours, and every Night Phase is 24 hours.
*You can skip voting/talking for a day phase (but will be regarded as suspicious by other players), but consecutive skips will result in an inactivity kill.
*To use a night power (IE Knightman defending, etc…), players will PM the Host (aka me) with their victim/target choice. Defender targets will always get defended no matter what order they post (as long as it's before the deadline), and likewise Seer targets will always get successfully scanned (but the seer may still get killed in the same night if they were chosen as the night victim).
*Dead players cannot give hints as to what they know, but are welcome to watch the game even after death (as ghosts).
*If you’re not sure of who you want to vote against/accuse, you can say “Vote: No kill.” If you DO have a choice, you can say “Vote: Kill (name here).”
*If you don’t have a player you want to accuse, it’s alright. A victim of the majority vote is not required for each day phase.
*Good guys win if all Wolfman players are dead. Bad guys will win if there are an equal number of Wolfmen versus players.
If there's any questions, please don't hesitate to ask. I'm more than happy to answer and clear any confusion you may have.
Signups will end either on Monday of next week, or if we don't have enough players by then, they'll close once we hit 10. But if there is a good enough turnout before the deadline, there's absolutely no maximum limit of players.
