  • In what was a very very poor term for the Underhusen, being largely inactive, why do you deserve to be re-elected?

After that dismal showing, surely the best thing for the region would be to elect a completely new Underhusen?

  • Not necessarily Stark. I don't know whom/what to blame on our inactivity.
Of course we can blame ourselves, for various reasons, but I don't think inactivity in one term necessitates inactivity in another.
Real life sometimes makes online games tricky. PB is pretty politically sound in my mind, I think he would do well if re-elected.

  • That also brings up a question. Does an inactive Underhusen mean that, by and large, Wintreath is functioning and governing itself well, and little legislation is needed? Or does it signify that there are serious problems within the Underhusen that need to be addressed? As a new person, I'm curious on your take.

  • That's certainly been my thought, the relative good or bad performance of a term shouldn't be based on the amount of legislation pumped out.

Personally I think PB did an excellent job in his limited time allowed to shine this term.

This is a very interesting question, and I believe it's the one a lot of voters will be asking coming into this election.  I agree with Daphne to a degree, in that mindlessly throwing bills around accomplishes nothing.  We are a legislative body, so legislation is our goal, but legislating for the sake of legislating is the epitome of inefficient bureaucracy.

Having said that, there are a lot of things that candidates last year (myself included) wanted to accomplish, but for one reason or another, didn't.  Earlier Stortings have done an excellent job of laying out the basics for the region to function.  If we want Wintreath to continue to grow, part of the impetus for that growth can come from the Storting.  I'm curious to explore the relationship of the Riksrad and the Storting, since there currently isn't one at all, save for some overlap between members of both bodies.

  • The Riksråd is part of the Executive, so you wouldn't expect it to have much of a relationship of its own with the legislature. :P

So, author of the Underhusen's first non-binding statement...any other topics you're interested in issuing similar statements on? :P

  • There are probably numerous opportunities for such resolutions that pass us by every day. Many people don't realize just how many Post Offices the US Congress memorializes every session.

  • lol, this reminds me of something. :P

About eight or nine years ago, I was part of a staff for a small-scale MMO project, and one of the first thing one of the other staff members did was put in a post office system. If I remember correctly, you had to get all the materials together to make paper, make it, and then you would get paid when you mailed the paper out. It didn't even send out actual messages, lol. Most derided system ever...I remember one person called it in-game welfare, lol.

The point is, post offices aren't always good. :P

  • A friend of mine got arrested for trying to burn down the local post office while tripping on acid. The post office in question was made of brick.
