Just got home; getting online now.

So! This was an interesting game that started out with myself, Hannah, Gov, Josh, and Andromedian. Just dropped out fairly quickly because he was bored, and Andro disconnected a bit afterwards and never came back online...then a few hours later the game became bugged and we couldn't finish!

The bug was that at the end of the turn it would say 'waiting for players', even though the turn timer reached 0 and everyone was finished. I looked it up and it seems pretty common, though I couldn't find a solution. Would anybody else know?

There were some successes too...the turn timer worked great, and before the game stopped we got further than we had gotten in a game in a long time...to the late renaissance.

Yeah... The cable line was cut... :s .How'd the AI end up doing as me anyway?  Probably not aggressive enough, or?

Well, it declared war on Hannah, lol.

Haha. And that didn't go well for it?

I'm not sure...no cities changed hands, I know that much. You'd have to ask her for more details.

Ooh! Did it found the two settlers I had made?

It did found the settlers as well as build a few more  . The Germany bot in-fact had the highest score for most of the game after you left, it managed to build 5 new wonders, including the great wall.

It declared war on me after I refused to sign a research agreement with it, the Zulu bot immediately -for apparently no reason  - decided to station a bunch of troops at my borders blocking certain defensive movements I could have made . The bots tactic was rather annoying, at first it sent several Trebuchets and Composite Bowman towards my second city: Antium, my defences as well as my legionaries and my own Comp. Bowmen easily defended the area, without the city even needing to take fire  . Then they changed tact and targeted my caravans and improvements with Cavalry  , I didn't have any horses so they tended to simply outrun my legionaries but occasionally my Bowmen could fire on them...  sadly by the time I managed to kill them they had pillaged all my plantations and most of my mines and destroyed all of my caravan routes , this crashed my Happiness and Economy, and knocked on to my Production and Science, also repairing everything was very slow with many barbarian horsemen coming in and harassing me.

Before the game ended I was preparing a counter-attack, first to destroy the barbarian camps (that the AI was annoyingly ignoring) and then into German territory, in the goal of trying to get them to accept a surrender.

It's kinda ironic that I'm the one that wanted to do raging barbarians and then I was mostly protected from them by mountains and ocean. I have a few instances where barbarians snuck in, but my spearmen/pikemen quickly took care of them.

I feel like my performance improved this game over the last...getting Writing from ruins was a stroke of good luck, but I was also able to keep myself in the black the entire game. Using a Pangea map definitely helped to make caravans workable, and I thought the map was a good size.

My capital was safe but all my other cities were right in their line of fire, especially my third city  also they kept stealing my missionaries! They stole 3 of them 

Anyway  that reminds me, how did you all find Pangea was it OK, or was continents/earth better? 

I liked Pangaea because it was easier to use caravans and because we met up with each other pretty quickly.

I usually prefer continents, because naval warfare plays a larger role in those games... and there are usually more cities founded on oceans with it, and more sea trade routes equals more money=faster progression. But I did enjoy the Pangea game.
