    DENTH KASTEN RESIGNS

    Cartoon by JoneWest

In a surprising move the Jarl of Defence Denth Kasten has announced his intention to resign from his position.

The current Chairman of the Overhusen also signalled that he would no longer seek to remain in the Overhusen in the next cycle as well as leaving as Defence Chief. Citing lack of activity as the main reason, Denth wrote in a statement “this is a personal decision, as I will not meet the activity requirements for the Riksråd this month. Rather than be forcefully removed from office, I am deciding to resign my position.”.

Denth Kasten has made significant contributions to Wintreath and is one of the most experienced people in the region. He has won the respect of all in the region for his dedication and commitment serving in crucial positions. A man that is certainly trusted by his majesty and his resignation will be a blow to the King personally and to the stability of Wintreath.

The news comes at a time when the region is entering a possible summer lull in activity. With the foreign affairs and culture brief still to be filled also, the Riksrad is looking very bare. His majesty the King will be facing a difficult few weeks with a risk to stability of Wintreath over the summer. A situation that certainly makes for interesting reading, with viable replacement options for Denth seemingly in short supply, his majesty’s next move to will be important.

The Guardian has sought to get a statement from the monarch on Denth’s resignation. He did not wish to make further comment. Although in response to the announcement of the resignation he signalled that no quick appointments will be made and there will be a thorough process to ensure the right person is chosen to replace the outgoing Defence Jarl.

Denth Kasten will continue as an administrator in the region. He has also recently decided that he will run to become a member of the lower elected chamber, the Underhusen. Some consider this a surprising move given his recent resignations. However being an experienced member of the region he will certainly be considered a favourite to be elected in the upcoming Underhusen elections.

WEISSREICH AND DAPHNE LEADING THE RACE TO BECOME THE NEXT CULTURE CHIEF

    Picture of Weissreich's avatar (2014).

Weissreich and Daphne are currently leading the race to become the new Jarl of Culture in Wintreath.

Weissreich appears to be one of the favourites due to his experience in the region and the work that he has undertaken so far on improving the culture and documented history of Wintreath. The current Speaker pro tempore in the Underhusen has received plaudits for the effort and detail that he has achieved in constructing the ‘Establishment of Setting’ threads and the ‘Oh, The Places You’ll Go in Wintreath’. In creating such a rich and well thought out culture in the region Weiss seems the obvious choice to become the new Jarl of Culture. Weissreich has recently been commended in the legislature for the achievements he has made to Wintreath and is riding high in terms of popularity.

Daphne is also considered an excellent candidate for the Jarlship of culture. She has attempted to start roleplays in Wintreath and is one of the key members attempting to radically improve the region through what it can offer new members to stay around and become active citizens.

The other two candidates that are going for the top job in Culture are Jonewest and Govindia. Both men are well known and well liked in the region and will certainly hoping that they can land the job. One thing for sure is with pressure mounting on the monarch to fill key positions in the government; an appointment is due in the coming days or weeks.
