For whatever reason, EA is offering The Sims 2 plus all Expansions and Stuff packs for free through their origin store. To redeem, just go into the Origin client, go to redeem a product code under the games menu, and enter in I-LOVE-THE-SIMS. After confirming, it will be added to your Origin library for download.

The game is nearly a decade old, but as much as EA charges for expansions it probably sold for $500 in its hayday, so why not pick it up while it lasts?

Well, this is odd. I really wonder what their reasoning behind this is.

Maybe a Sims-related announcement is upcoming and they're trying to build the hype?

Well, they could be promoting Origin, which is their answer to Steam I believe. They could be promoting The Sims 4, which they are accepting preorders for.

Or the whole thing could be a mistake.

Regardless, they don't sell The Sims 2 anymore, so it's not like they're losing money by giving it away!

Well, consider it a free gift from the kindness of their hearts.

*Sarcasm*

In fairness, I got started on Steam when they were giving away Portal for free, and I've spent hundreds on there since. It could be a smart business move.
