Huzzah.

It would seem the overwhelming consensus is that it be kept, and thus it will be.

I don't mind it be kept, but people have abused it.  See my excessive negative karma and my above complaint.

I thought Reon's reply to your above complaint was great.

How do you feel it's been abused?

I've explained this before I believe how some just gave me negative karma more out of spite than disliking my post.

I suppose it's possible...but it's equally possible that they simply didn't like your posts and you perceive it as being out of spite, or that some people did it in response to your occasional complaining about your negative karma on the IRC. If you think people are doing it out of spite, then the last thing you should do is confirm to them that it bothers you.

The point is, it's not really possible to go back through each dislike and determine the motivation behind each one. As an administrator (this falls under my Founder hat and not my Monarch crown), the only options I see as viable are to keep the system or to ditch it entirely, and it would seem most people desire to keep the current system.

I guess what I'm saying is, even if you're right, there's not much I can do about it from my position.

I agree Gov the system does not reflect the value of what people say.

If the karma system is just used as a bit of fun, then that's a different story.
