  • Howard definitely won't. Dempsey is a question mark I would say.

  • I was in a meeting today at work, and it was how amazing the people that were getting scores and talking about this game during breaks. Soccer / football has really come a long way in America...

  • Good to see USA doing so well in the World Cup.

The important bit for American soccer (I really didn't want to use the word soccer but American football is something different to you lot haha) is to keep up the interest, the inspiration and the funding after the hype of the World Cup finishes.

On that front, it is good to see our very own Sir David Beckham trying to help and start his own MLS team.

  • I agree. Klinsmann is doing a fine job of facilitating that interest.
I would hope by 2018 or 2022 the interest doubles, especially in lieu of our success in the CONCAFA.

  • It won't progress as much a year after the World cup ends for example. However I certainly would expect soccer in the the US to go from strength to strength though. That is the trend so far and the success in the World cup has only reinforced that direction.

  • I agree that it might be a bit stagnant following the World Cup, not much to happen in 2015, but 2016 brings the CONCAFA Cup.
It would dramatically change the balance if by some cosmic lord's grace we were granted the World Cup in 2018 or 2022 (in lieu of Russia going cray cray and Qatar being...Qatar).
