  1.1 This shall be titled Fundamental Laws Amendment V
2. Amendments
  2.1 Under article Five, Declaration of Rights, the following shall be added:
 

  8. No citizen shall stand trial for a crime, if the act was not criminalized prior to committing the act.

Peers may vote Aye, Nay, or Abstain.

While I agree that this is needed, I'm not a fan of how this is worded.

What about it's wording bothers you? This is not overly unusual...

The wording is a little odd, though it essentially just forbids ex post facto laws.

I will abstain.

If this were a normal bill, I would support it in spite of the way it's written...but this is our Constitution, and I think wording should be very clear in it since it's the source of our entire legal system.

For that reason I have to vote nay, but highly encourage the Underhusen to rewrite and resubmit it.

With 2 against, 1 for, and one abstention, this amendment fails to pass.
