    Welcome back! Also there's this custom where people who apply for citizenship have to pay me a bacon fee. Regular bacon will be just fine. This custom only started in your absence but you should observe it anyways. I swear I'm not just trying to get free bacon.

    He's actually correct.  This was stated in the unwritten New Citizenship Fee Act near the beginning:

    At the time of applying for citizenship, new citizens must pay a fee of five strips of bacon each to every long-standing citizen that wishes to incur the fee.

    Actually, that was in the next part.  Here's the complete passage:

    At the time of applying for citizenship, new citizens must pay a fee of five strips of bacon each to every long-standing citizen that wishes to incur the fee.  A taxation of one potato per day will also be instituted for each new member.  Each potato will be donated directly to the Church of the Holy Spud.  The Monarch himself may also choose to incur a tax of three snow turnips per day for new members, ending once a member has reached their 90 day period.
