Hmm.
We have a houses system that is growing, but it is mainly for Roleplay means. We intend to grow it and with Ghant pushing more IC stuff we might keep it growing for Wintreath Roleplay material.
The thing with what you are suggesting, and I hate to point this out again, is that this creates division. This region was created because of the political division and strife in Spiritus. What you are suggesting could be fun, and I could be wrong and everyone would just do IC things and still be nice to each other. However, I must say that there will always be someone who will come along and ruin this. I think we could use the House system in roleplays, but most of our politics attempt to be non-divisive and as non-competitive as possible.
A little breakdown of our political system might help explain why houses is a bad idea.
We have the executive branch, composed of the monarchy and the Riksrad cabinet. This is the king and his advisors and his ministers. Integration gets members; Culture works on RPs; Defense works on our regional military; FA works on our relations with other regions; WA on our regional vote on WA proposals; and Information on our regional announcements, Orendi, etc. The king presides over this and though the Riksrad is given a large degree of freedom, if the king does not want something to be done or does want something to be done, the Riksrad must do so.
The Overhusen is appointed by the king as well, but their only job is to vote on legislation that the Underhusen drafts and passes.
The Underhusen is elected and drafts bills proposed by members of the Underhusen or proposed in the Citizen's Platform. Once these bills are drafted, edited and voted on, and they pass, the Overhusen looks over them.
As you can see, there really isn't a politics game here. We are all working for one thing, and that is to make Wintreath a safe and welcoming region.
I do not oppose your idea if you want to run an RP.
But I do oppose it in our regional government. Wintermoot holds power overall and he wouldn't enjoy infighting, even for 'fun'. The thing with infighting, or any 'playfighting' is that it would eventually lead the region to real infighting. This system would create grudges and resentment and we cannot have a government that works on that. We do not have political parties and we shouldn't because then lines get drawn and people have to choose sides. In the Underhusen and the Overhusen every member votes on their own inclinations, not because their party is voting one way or another, but because they find something wrong with the bill that needs to be fixed, or because they liked the bill.
Once again, I will say, you can start an RP if you wish to have face-offs between houses, but I think that this region does not need the infighting that houses would create.
