Hello everybody and welcome to my platform thread! It's been a while since I've done one of these, but I'm looking forward to participating in this campaign and engaging with an incredible field of candidates as I do so.
I returned to Wintreath around the time of the last election, but decided to decline my nomination as I wanted to get to grips with the region as it has become since I left. I've truly enjoyed getting to know everyone again, whether you be new (to me) members or folks who were around when I left last time.
Having found my feet, and observed the issues that have come under scrutiny in the last term that remain at debate into this coming term, I've decided to run for Underhusen. With legislative reform sitting front and centre of everyone's minds in one form or another, I believe I can bring my experience from our previous discussions to bear on the problem and push to synthesise ideas together into a Bill that will find widespread support.
Politics has always been something that fascinated me in this region, and I think it's fair to say that I played a somewhat formative role in Wintrean law - I wrote the Judicial Offices Act and the Code of Criminal Law, both of which I'd like to revisit and revise somewhat. Whilst they were 'good enough' at the time by merit of nobody else having a better idea, they aren't fit for purpose in modern Wintreath and along with Chanku (should she be elected) I aim to reform the Judicial legal framework.
Beyond what I hope to achieve, I like to think that I am a level-headed, friendly and deliberative member of the region who can participate in and help guide debates on many topics. My real-world job has me interacting with politicians and policy on a frequent basis, and I would greatly enjoy the opportunity to bring that experience into my role as Skifra to the benefit of the region that has been my sole home in Nationstates since 2013.
At the end of the day, I've loved this region since I joined it and have looked for ways to give back wherever I can - with a lot up in the air and being discussed about the direction of the legislature, I'd love the opportunity to be a part of that process and help the continued development of Wintreath!
Thank you to those of you who will consider me for this role and best of luck to all of you who are running for this term! If anyone has any questions, feel free to ask them here and I'll do my best to provide a satisfactory answer.
