If you were in a shootout during the Wild West, what would be your weapon of choice?

Scenario: You and your fellow gang members are positioned on a nearby hill by an abandoned town. Suddenly, you and the gang spot a rival band of outlaws riding their horses towards the area. Before deciding to end up in a potential shootout, you realize that you're unarmed. What weapon do you decide to bring?

Rules:

1. Your weapon has to of been invented either during or prior to 1899 in The United States of America.

2. That's it, have fun y'all.

Easily I choose the Pietta model 1860 Army .44-Caliber Black Powder Revolver. With an 8 inch barrel, a walnut grip and the blued brass alongside regular brass, this gun is both elegant and deadly. Best of all, Cabela
s actually sells these beautiful SOBs for less than $300 (before taxes)!

I choose their horses.

I'm in an abandoned town on a hill, implying I have the advantage in both superior sightlines and cover. This means range is going to be the biggest single deciding factor, which means a rifle. Since there's 'a band' of them, weight of fire is going to be a consideration, so I'm going to want a repeater (and I don't need the power of a single-shot hunting rifle since that's overkill, nor the cheaper cost of something like a Trapdoor since I can at least nominally pick whatever).
Thus, some kind of repeater rifle, and the best of the bunch is the Winchester 1886. You pretty much have to trust any firearm that had Browning working on it.

Technically I wouldn’t count this since it’s fictional, but fuck it. If it can kill, it’s a weapon.

Horses have been known to trample people, so I’d say so.

My choice is a black hole created before 1899.

I probably should’ve added a couple more rules, because this is beginning to turn into a joke.

Regardless, my personal weapon of choice would have to be the Winchester Model 1873. Not only is it reliable, but also has a very effective range.

I'd go with Norman era plate armor.

Is there a reason we have to be in a shootout? It's an abandoned town that doesn't seem to be important in any way...wouldn't it be better to just leave?
