First off, happy LGBT Pride Month!
LGBT Pride Month is an opportunity to commemorate the struggles of the LGBTQ community, explore issues facing the community and the individual members of it, and to celebrate the many people in it and the diversity that they represent. What better time than now to have a
dedicated LGBTQ discussion forum to facilitate those issues?
I believe that this forum will not only provide a place for our LGBTQ community and other members to come together in discussing these topics, it will allow new members who are attracted to Wintreath by the promise of a vibrant LGBTQ community to find and interact with it right off the bat. Over the years, many people have told me that Wintreath represents a place that they can come to be accepted and loved...to be in a place where they belong. I expect that this forum will be the next step to making Wintreath an even better place to find acceptance and belonging.
I have to admit that I'm not the most creative person, but a forum needs a name, and LGBTQ Chat seemed kinda dull, so after giving it some thought I named it
The Pride...of course, it can refer to gay pride, but a social unit of lions is also a pride, and, well, it could be a place for a social unit too.
I hope that our new forum will be a place where people come together, find belonging, and discuss many things...the serious, the silly, the personal, and everything in between.
