As it says, this thread is for the discussion of all OOC things and for the clarification of IC things that might be necessary for the duration of this iteration of Wintreath Space Expeditions!! :D

Well it's finally here after a long wait!  Sorry that took so long guys!  I'll probably do a mention of everyone near the end of the day just in case people have totally stopped following the project, which I certainly wouldn't blame them for doing... :P

I made some minor assumptions in the combat capabilities of the craft, though they could be explained in the fact that Yaim Rusur would have more likely sent a flying weapon system into space so anything will have "Relatively lower combat capabilities" compared to whatever they would have made XD

Have a go at it!  Talk about leaving Wintreath/getting aboard, etc.  And sure, if you'd like, run into the captain!  :P

that's actually a pretty good one, though you will probably have to check in with Vau in addition to the captain at some point. I am your boss in terms of Security after all. Or maybe you don't idk

I'm but a humble service robot. Why would I need to talk to Security?

And dont worry.

Perry will make his way to see Security...soon enough....

I apologize, I was under the impression that your role was security, I apologize. If you were you would have needed to notify your commanding officer (or chief in this case) that you were present and understood your assigned post.

I've accidentally locked Empowered threads many more times than I care to admit. It doesn't help that the "Lock Topic" link is wedged quietly and neatly between the page number links and the Quick Reply field.

Just to clarify, the emotes in my IC posts are the faces Perry is making.

Also, PAAR-85 is the single unit designation, as in he is the 85th PAAR, not the series number.

@BraveSirRobin, would the captain be on the bridge now?

Also, I'm a bit uncomfortable with Cinciri saying Yaim Rusur helped the United Gralend Corporation. That's the backstory of my character. While I admit that it makes sense I am uncomfortable with additions to my backstory without so much as consulting me first. Not mad, I'm just a bit uncomfortable with that prospect.

I wasn't referring to the character you were playing or that project in general. I simply meant perhaps the first prototypes. and I mean like just combat data, not meaning they definitely used such information, but rather as suggestions for them to make their own. I was not implying anything about your character in specific. If you would like me to retract that statement I will immediately however, and I apologize if I overstepped

Considering that the ship's library computer is partially sentient, I'd assume it's at least a possibility.  Certainly someone in engineering who works with the computer system knows :P

Anyway, I think I might RP as a slightly Rick Sanchez-inspired character, perhaps with a hint of Mordin Solus.

We haven't decided if they're all dead yet. Some might have somehow crawled into a cryo pod or something -- I suppose it'd be up to the RPers as to what happened to their respective characters. Our current mission is to find out what happened to the last crew. But, yeah, I'll assume most are dead. :P

We never got an exact date after the first RP, but I always thought that it'd be about 5-15 years after the first. Depends on how long everyone thinks it might take to build another ship. Then again, this new one has been established as pretty hastily constructed, so I think the 5-8 year range is probably most believable, but again, I'm open to suggestions!

The fact that Laurentus just joined this RP kinda makes me want to join. But then again, I don't even have time for my own RP, and any non-generic character creation takes time...

Hmm. @North, unless your character has access to info outside the ship and its records, and unless he can hack into some of the most secure systems of a highly militaristic nation, I'm not sure how Perry would gain all this info on Malan...

But in the interest of getting things to move forward, I will indulge this, since the prospect of an alliance between the two biggest scumbags on the ship does appeal to me. It also sort of acts as a fucked up mirror of the relationship I hoped would develop between Hendrik and HKR in TOS.

EDIT: I see I misread. It would be interesting to see what info the UGC has on Malan, and how they acquired it, but I am intrigued.

@Commander_Zemas , what exactly does a Robotics Artificer do, and who do you report to?

Also, @ShadowX4life , as Tactical Officer (or is it Chief Tactical Officer?) are you in charge of ship weapons and shields, or is that the Security Chief's responsibility, @Cinciri ?

For the rest, are these the general departments, @BraveSirRobin ? Sorry, just trying to understand the command structure.

Engineering
Chief Engineer Namora Yllaen
Propulsion Engineer Julio Perez
Field Engineer Jacobus Malan

Security
Security Chief Kal Vau
Security Officer Johann von Tomlin

Medical
Chief Medical Officer Dr. C. R. McNamara, MD

Miscellaneous

As a tactical officer I would assess the mission, battlefield, situation, or intelligence  presented to me, so I assemble a strategy, tell my soldiers what should be carried, and continue to work around an evolving situation. The chief security officer, I think, is in charge of the safety of the ship. I’m more focused on danger soldiers will face outside the ship, whether be it in space or on celestial bodies. I would prefer chief tactical officer
Thank you for asking.  :)

@Commander_Zemas , what exactly does a Robotics Artificer do, and who do you report to?

A robot artificer's role is to manage, invent, build and maintain/repair robots/droids/AI. Aurelius basically manages any AI existing on the ship and maintains/repairs any droids that we have in service. And if necessary, Aurelius will build new robots/droids to aid us, whether it be combat or for the wellbeing of the ship.

As for what Aurelius reports to? Well, let's just say Aurelius likes to report to himself.

Tactical Officer would be control of ship weapons systems and personnel, whereas the Security Chief and the Security Officer control the two shipboard security departments, one naval and one under military command.  I'm not sure which one wants which role though, so I left that deliberately ambiguous.

Tl;dr: Tactical is ship's weapons, security officers control two staffs, one military & one naval.

I was assuming Security Chief is in charge of the actual security forces on board, since Kal Vau has more combat training than actual engineering experience, think of it like him having a Major in history and a minor in ballistics engineering. So I was assuming the officer would be more in control of the actual ships weapons.

Tactical is ship systems.  One of the security officers commands soldiers under Spacefleet command and the other under Wintreath Military Command.

What's on the agenda of the meeting? Maybe someone else can do it. The captain suddenly became violently ill from someone trying to sabotage the mission, or something.

Thoughts, @BraveSirRobin?

Ahh yes.  I had in fact gotten this thread lost in the bottom of the threads.  My apologies.

Can someone give me a directive? One that is prime, preferably.

Go for what you would like.  It's essentially an open world and anything you do can be worked into things.  You could talk to people about your engineering projects, do a collaborative thing with others, etc.  The world is your oyster!  :P

Most of the non-military and non-essential (ie life support, basic food production) isn't complete because of a rushed completion, so you can repair/improve/build from scratch anything, really.  Even recreational stuff (holodeck?  Fun zero-gravity recreation battle room?)  You can go anywhere you'd like with this stuff!  :)

@BraveSirRobin what is the established canon we're going with for the Wintreath?

I vote they discovered Cthulu and got annihilated, except for a few crew mates who have somehow survived to leave the current mission a trail of breadcrumbs to some sort of hidden planetary observation base.

I'm honestly open to anything.  I thought it would naturally progress and that plot progression to at least flesh out some of the current crew could occur before we get into the mystery of the Wintreath

You know how the Wintreath was sent to investigate why a certain space station on the fringes of explored space had ceased communications? The station had alien attack drones aboard it. I figured they disabled the drones and got the station functioning again to send back information on the incident before getting attacked by a small alien fleet and getting destroyed. And the information on this incident is classified and only given out to those who "need to know".

Yeah, that's just about what my head canon says happened.

And Yllia is trying to prioritize propulsion drives to be able to escape confrontation and hydroponics to be able to hide from aggressors for lengthy periods of time without needing to find some planet or station for basic supplies.

Hmm, would I be correct in guessing that smaller stealth ships have already been sent out on recon missions? It seems like it would be stupid to send this massive ship out completely blind.

To be fair guys, we aren't supposed to know what happened to the USS Wintreath yet.

In my head canon contact was lost when the alien fleet showed up. We don't know if they were destroyed, escaped and hiding somewhere, or crash landed on a planet somewhere.

Alright, @BraveSirRobin, could you temporarily hand the reins of this RP over to someone else?

True I think @Commander_Zemas would probably be the best.  I'm just too busy IRL these days, sorry guys :/
