Hey guys, I haven't played nationstates in so long I might as well be new. I was the leader of a region containing 200+ people for a short stint, so I'm not entirely new I hope to get back into it all, so please help me!

Hi, Kaltvegg. I'm Polaris. I'm sure that you've already met Wintermoot. If you need help, ask him or Horse. He's NS's best equestrian around.

Leading a region of 200+ nations is very impressive, especially since that was before stamps helped automate recruitment! I certainly hope once you're approved you enjoy your stay in our region.

Alterra or Denth should be around to review your application as soon as possible, but in the meantime feel free to post in the Howling Wind Tavern, General Discussion, or Valley of the Spammage forums, as those are open to applicants.

Thank you for the warm welcomes, and don't be too impressed, the leadership position was primarily inherited in a time of chaos (The longstanding founder quit suddenly) and I held it until the next election, where I didn't run. I was placed in that position because I knew the region well, however I never really knew a great amount about NationStates itself. I think this time around I will try to have fun instead of being wrapped up in all of that!

Hehe...sooner or later everyone finds themselves in a time of chaos in NationStates. It seems to be unavoidable.

Still, I think we've done well to keep the worst of it out of Wintreath.

That's good to hear! That got me thinking, what would be the best place to learn about the history of the region? I'd be very interested in reading all about it after I finish reading up on all of Wintreath's legislature  ;D

A regional history is...somewhat controversial. Basically, I was formerly President of another region, but it fell into...I guess you could call it a time of chaos. When I joined it it was small and community-based, but over time it became more political and dramatic. Eventually it got to the point where the region's delegate was playing political games, attacking me, and attempting to assassinate my character in order to get me out of the Presidency...probably because I had told him I planned to remove him as delegate when a viable alternative appeared (and one just had). I just didn't think it was very fun, cause I hate politics, and I hate lies and attacks and political games, so I resigned all my positions and left.

I originally created Wintreath as a place to store my nations while I considered my NS future, but my friends convinced me to try making a serious region, and so I made one based on cooperation and community instead of politics and divisiveness, and six months later here we are now.

Let's see...from there, Wintreath was an absolute monarchy until we had a month-long Constitutional Convention, out of which the Fundamental Laws were drafted and ratified in December, at which point we became a constitutional monarchy. And...you know, so much has happened the rest is kinda a blur for me. I'm seriously going to have to go back through the forums when we do an official history, lol.

A more formal and official history has always been complicated, because we share many dual-Citizens with the other region and previously had diplomatic relations with them, plus it's just a hard story for me to write objectively, because I was deeply offended and upset by some of the things that happened that led to me leaving that region. I'm hoping we can tackle that project soon, though.

That's a good question, it was probably closest to 4 years ago that I stopped playing, my nation was Uberslovakia, however I have no idea how to find the name of the region again (I have long since forgotten). If you know how to find a dead nation's region, I'd be grateful! Haha

Edit: So for those of you that might not have immediately noticed, this means I was placed in charge of a nation at 13, a primary reason behind not staying in the position.

Huh, I honestly couldn't tell you what I did for the rest of the time, I don't actually know what I'm looking at, if it was in between somewhere, it's possible I did some military stuff, I really can't remember.

Edit: I should really take time before posting. I now understand your chart, however i still couldn't tell you what the differences mean. The difference at the beginning was most likely me originally joining the region, and the one at the end was most likely something to do with the region imploding.
