Are there any particular services that people want in their contacts? I'm manually testing Skype out in my profile, but the ability to add contacts will come soon.

Additional Profile Updates
You can now add contacts to your new profiles! I noticed that most people weren't using the entire page of the introduction, so I took some of that space to create an area for user contacts! When other members are viewing your profile, there will always be the option to PM you, but you can also add other ways to contact you. Currently, I have Skype already added to the system, but if there are other contacts you want let me know and I'll add them in.

Also, you may notice that the edit profile link is gone. You can now update the relevant area of your profile from the [Update] link at the top right of each section. Clicking that in the contacts area will let you edit contacts, and clicking it in the intro will allow you to edit your profile. I think this is a more intuitive method of doing updates than lumping everything onto one edit screen.

Additionally, your Citizenship nation now pulls into the new profile. It's not exactly pretty at the moment, but it's there...ready for other upgrades that I have planned.

Embedding Google Spreadsheets
As anyone that's been around for long probably knows, I'm a fan of Google Spreadsheets. They're not quite as sophisticated as Excel, but they're easy to use, easy to get displayed online, and much easier than trying to deal with tables on forums. In the past, I've always just shared a link to each spreadsheet, but now I (and you) can directly embed them in posts.

To embed a spreadsheet that you own in a post, follow these directions:

1) In the spreadsheet, go to File->Publish to the Web..., and in the box that comes up, click the button to start publishing.

2) At the bottom, you should be provided a URL to display the spreadsheet. Copy ONLY the value of the key in the URL, as shown in the example below:

3) Use the gspreadsheet tag to embed the sheet in a post, as shown below:

The karma system will be offline this weekend while it is rewritten and replaced.

EDIT: I have gone through and checked posts for aberrations. In cases where someone gave multiple likes or dislikes, the extra ones were removed. In cases where someone both liked and disliked a post, both the like and dislike were removed. These changes should reflect in member profiles as well.

EDIT2: Karma on posts have been reconciled with karma on members. The current karma for each person should be correct now.

The donation box on the main page has been folded into the site menu. When you click the donate option in the menu, it'll take you to a nifty page explaining everything donations are used for, and what happens when we have more donations than we have expenses in a month. It should help our donators and potential donators know exactly what their money will be going to.

The karma system is back up and running.

The portion of the system that handles votes uses custom code now instead of various SMF mods, which makes it both more flexible and easier to handle and build upon. As of now, you can change your karma vote if you have already done so, and abuse will be much more difficult.

But what if I both Like and Dislike a post?

It will change accordingly.

I made some changes to the front page area just as an experiment. I moved the child forums under the forum description and I removed the vertical borders in the forum listing, in an attempt to make the front page feel less 'boxy'. Any thoughts?

Trying a new emote set, just to see if it's liked...all but the snowflake are inspired by IPB's "Normicon" emote style, a style I've always been fond of.
