A Proclamation Regarding the Royal House of Wintreath
I know that some people feel that NS-families are one of the oddest concepts in NationStates. For me, when I was adopted into what would become the Stark family, it wasn't something that I took lightly...the Stark name symbolized people and things that were very important to me at the time. I was initially adopted by Cormac almost a year ago, who at the time was one of my closest friends in NS and somebody that I viewed as my NS mentor. Later on, when that relationship soured during the events that lead to the creation of this region, I was adopted by Tim, someone that I was also very close with at the time. Throughout the entire period, I was also related to Charax...first as a cousin, then as a brother...I don't think his importance to me is a secret at this point. Without any of them, and without the friendships we had in Spiritus, I doubt I would be where I am today. I'm not sure I would even still be here on NationStates.
However, events move apace, and it seems nowhere do they move faster than they do in NationStates. Things are not how they were a year ago, or even six months ago, and the ties I felt to the Stark line no longer feel relevant. All the people that made it relevant have either left the family or left the game, and in that time I've gained many new close friends and in-game relationships, especially with my wife, Insenjar. Our in-game marriage is the manifestation of a close friendship we've had since last summer, and has only grown deeper and closer since. It felt that the time was right for us to found a new family...a new royal family befitting of Wintreath and all that we have gained since we founded this region almost six months ago.
We jointly put our heads together and came up with a name we both could be proud to use, to associate with each other, and to give to future members of our family:
Kestar. Honestly, she deserves most of the credit, I suck horribly at coming up with names.
Thus, by joint proclamation of the Monarch and the Queen of Wintreath, from this point forward, the Monarchy of Wintreath shall be held by the Royal House of Kestar. I shall go by the name Inric Nodrim Kestar and Insenjar shall go by the name Talwyn Azenor Kestar. We renounce all previous associations and ties with the Locksley-Stark line.I don't expect most people to find any of this terribly exciting, but I'm absolutely thrilled. I hope that our new royal family will grow and prosper in time, and will go on to do great things here and throughout NationStates in the future. Even if it doesn't, I'm happy to have a family name that symbolizes what matters to me today.
