I was reading a Politico article about The Last of Us and how it represents a change what dystopian scenarios we fear over time. The idea is that earlier on, we most feared brutal, all-powerful governments that forced its own people into submission (1984 and Brave New World). However, over time we've come to fear the opposite: a bumbling government that's as helpless in a crisis as its people (the movie Contagion or The Last of Us), resulting in anarchy and chaos. It's a fascinating read that namedrops lots of dystopian books, shows, and movies, so if you're interested in that give it a read.

But it got me to thinking, which scenario is worse? That's what I'm asking you. Would it be worse to live in a world with Big Brother or FEDRA?
